A manly man is someone who shows spiritual, mental, and physical resilience daily. Paul was that example for us. 2 Tim 4:6-8 shows Paul looking forward to his prize and is an encouragement and challenge to me to be more bold.

2 Timothy 4:6-8 NLT
[6] As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God. The time of my death is near. [7] I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. [8] And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing.

What did you accomplish in 2024? What were the challenges and triumphs? Thank God for the Grace and Mercy he showed us in 2024, and we look forward to what he has in store for us in 2025. Will you be an active participant, or will you just be floating through? I don’t think it is cliché to set goals for the new year. It is a natural reset. What does this new year look like? What do you think God has in store for you? What areas of leadership will you step into?

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Polar plunge on New Year’s

COT:
In considering resolutions for the new year, there are many noble things that we can resolve to do better. Time management is one of those things. There can be a lot said about time. King Solomon said there is a time for everything (Ecclesiastes 3). We often hear the phrase “time is money” because our time is valuable. What I wanted to share today is that our time is limited. I was thinking about how much time we spend doing the various things in our lives. How much time do we spend working, exercising, teaching, playing, praying, and worshipping? All of these are good things to spend our time on. We must work to take care of our families. We should exercise to take care of the bodies we are blessed with. We must teach our children how to live. We need time to relax and have fun. We need time in prayer to God. We need time to worship God and encourage each other when we gather together. However, do we spend any of our time on fruitless things? Do we waste our time in front of screens? Do we waste extra time at the office when it could wait until tomorrow? Do we spend too much time being lazy on the weekends? James 4:14 impresses on us that our life is as a vapor that only appears for a little while.
James 4:13-17 NASB1995
[13] Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.” [14] Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. [15] Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that.” [16] But as it is, you boast in your arrogance; all such boasting is evil. [17] Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin.”
We need to be mindful of how we spend our time because we don’t have an endless supply.
