THA-THANG:

  1. Mosey to the ball field for relay race
    • Split into two teams.  Team 1 stay at home plate, team 2 go to 2nd base.
    • First man starts by bear crawling to the next base & then sprinting the rest of the bases.
    • Team holds plank until the man running gets back.
    • Perform 10 merkins as a group before next man takes off
  2. 11’s on the hill by ball field
    • Jump squats at top / Decline Merkins at bottom
    • must box jump concrete bleachers while going up the hill
    • alternate bernie sanders every other trip up
    • alternate forward bear crawl every other trip down
  3. Mosey to CMU pile & play some cards
    • Draw cards from the deck using the card value as the number of reps.  Face cards = 10;  Ace = 11;  Joker = 30 second stargazer
    • Hearts = burpees;  Diamonds = CMU goblet squat;  Clubs = CMU curls;  Spades = 4ct Iron Mike
    • Didn’t quite make it through the deck before time ran out.    Heavy on the burpees out of the gate!

Wheel O’ Fun.   Spinner wheel was on site today numbered 1-16.   Each number corresponded to an exercise.   Spin the wheel….note the exercise….then do 20 reps of that exercise.   About midway through we got tired of the repeats (especially the Turkish Getups) and decided to do 20 reps of any remaining exercises we hadn’t landed on yet.

  1. American swings
  2. Goblet squats
  3. Bent over rows (single arm)
  4. Turkish getups
  5. Side lunge
  6. Merkin with KB pull under
  7. Clean & Press
  8. Tricep extension
  9. Russian swing

I didn’t have a lot prepared but Tweet-E stepped up and shared about the impermanence of just about everything.  Whether you’re experiencing the best times or the worst times, the seasons of life do indeed change and you will only experience your current situation for a fleeting moment.   Therefore if you’re struggling with a tough time, show some grit for this season will pass.  Likewise if you’re experiencing a time of blessing right now, enjoy it to the fullest because it will not last forever.

Halloween special.  PAX got to choose either a Trick or a Treat at each location.   Exercise performed depended on what the PAX chose.  I have to give credit where it’s due, the whole “Trick or Treat” thing was fun but it wasn’t an original idea.  I borrowed it from P-Nut, who did this for last year’s Halloween workout!  Good ideas are worth repeating, thanks P-Nut!

    • Trick or Treat #1:  Shock & Awe Thruster Merkins (10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1)

    • Trick or Treat #2:  7’s on the Hill.   Burpees at the top / Squat Jumps at bottom

    • Trick or Treat #3:  Suicides up the hill
      • Round 1:  Broad jump up & bear crawl down

BOM was more of a public service announcement:  today is Halloween which means kids will be Trick or Treating tonight.  Please be safe and drive slow as it gets dark this evening.  Watch out for little kids walking around neighborhoods and remember to check your kids’ candy before giving it to them.

  1. Saturday’s 2 year F3 Knoxville anniversary has been moved to First Baptist Concord gym due to weather.  This will mean less opportunity to cook-out so remember to bring a dish.   Also, remember to vote for the F3 awards – Tank will be posting something on GroupMe for those who haven’t voted.
  2. Saturday will be a Convergence workout at the Asylum at 7:00 to celebrate the 2 year anniversary of F3 in Knoxville.   Cap’n Crunch and Ratchet will be leading so bring your heart rate monitors!  On 2nd thought, you may just want to leave the HR monitors at home….with those two on Q you’ll probably be scared of the numbers you see.

  1. Descending ladder.

Each man OYO work your way down the ladder from top to bottom.  After each round run across the parking lot & down the hill to the ball field fence.  Rinse & Repeat eliminating the lowest remaining exercise each round.  Alternate bernie sanders each trip up the hill when coming back from the ball field fence.

  • 8 Box Cutters
  • 7 Burpees

2.  Bear Square Crawl.

Four cones set up in a square.  Crawl the square while always facing the same direction.  Stop at each corner & perform the following:

  • Round 1:  10 Merkins
  • Round 2:  10 Pickle Pounders
  • Round 3:  out of time!  One long crawl to the end of the parking lot & Crawl Bear back.

  1. Island Hopping
    • Mosey around the building stopping at each covered area to dodge the rain
    • 5 merkins, 5 squats, 5 dips, 5 burpees at the first island, increase reps by 5 at each stop.
    • Finished 3 rounds then the rain let up so we ventured out for some variety
  2. Mosey to handrail…..circuit training
    • 3 rounds of the following
      • Easy ups under handrail x 10
      • Beary Sanders up the stairs
      • Box jumps on picnic table x 10
  3. Mosey to parking lot…..more island hopping
    • 3 rounds of the following
      • Island #1:  Squats x 10
      • run up stairs & across parking lot
      • Island #2:  Iron Mike x 10
      • run to the top of the hill
      • Island #3:  Squat Jumps x 10
  4. Mosey back to AO.
    • Stop at every parking lot island & alternate 10 merkins / 10 squats

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
I’ve been listening to the audio Bible lately.  I encouraged the PAX to give it a try.   Normally when I read I only get through 1-2 chapters at a time, but with the audio version I can easily listen to entire books in one setting.   It’s helpful to gain the perspective of hearing it all at one time so that everything is in context.
