The battle to get better physically, mentally and emotionally begins in the mind.  What we focus on shapes what we become.  Paul gave us some powerful words to help guide us as we seek to be HIMs:
Philippians 4:8
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

BOM
This morning was all about our Battle Buddy.  We can do more together than we ever can alone.  The simple truth is we are stronger and can go harder longer when we realize it’s not about us, but about the man next to us.  Solomon said “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”  (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12).  In the gloom our “threefold cord” is made up of the men next to us and the greater story we are a part of.  For HIMs it’s not about us…it’s about being a life-giver to those around us.

The first week of December the PAX accepted a challenge.  The challenge was max number of the following: 2 min Merkins, 2 min BBS and 5 min Burpees.  This gave everyone a baseline to work from and improve upon over the month.  Today we took the retest…BAM!!!  The growth was incredible.  It’s amazing what a group of men, banding together can do in a month!   After the retest we got to play with cinder blocks.  It was a cold morning, but mummblechatter was high everyone left better than when they started.

Now it’s time to keep getting better physically, mentally and spiritually together in 2016…

YHC shared a reflection on Psalm 90:12, “teach us to count our days.”  We are passing away, but the impact we can have on those we love, our neighborhood and city is eternal!

MOLESKIN
Inspired! That’s how YHC feels leaving #TheAsylum every morning.  Just over a month ago most of these men didn’t know each other, and to now see and hear them pushing and encouraging each other to get better…what other word can I use but inspired.

The PAX in Knoxville came out this morning and a crushed a non-stop 45 minute workout and a few even stayed after for an OTB 2 mile run. Each man gives his all for the man to his left and to his right, and that’s what it’s all about. Knoxville will never be the same!
