There is a lot going on in the world between politics, natural disasters, and world events. I have seen a lot of conversations try and devolve into arguments recently. Just remember that every person on the other side of a conversation or discussion, no matter how heated, is just that, a person. Treat them that way instead of an enemy, an idiot, or an obstacle.

Screenshot of “For directions, set current location as the starting point.”
Beware of the traps that sound like this:
– When I get “there” I’ll__________.”
– After I clean up my act then I’ll____________.”
– Next week/month/year I’m really going to focus on_________.”
When this screen popped up in my car and made me think – this is exactly right. For the directions that you are seeking to advance into the next season of life, your current location (physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, relationally, etc.) is the perfect (and only) start point.
Challenge someone in your sphere of influence this week by intentionally asking them what God asks Adam in Genesis: “Where are you?”

James 1:19
19 Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; 20 for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
I have been reading through The Peacemaker. It is full of scripture and advice on how to engage with conflict well. When to stand up and engage in conflict in a Christ like way and when to purposefully (not passively) decide to overlook minor offenses.
One great question to ask yourself when deciding on how to proceed is:
Will this advance the kingdom of God or just advance or benefit myself?
