COT:

Togetherness. This workout was a “Together” workout. All exercising, counting, and moving in sync with each other. Progressing together. It’s easy to go solo, to not ask for help, to be alone as a man. It can result in us struggling alone, or winning in private. Neither is as enjoyable as the alternative. Life is just better together…it’s not always easier, but it’s better. We were made to experience life interactively amongst peers, friends, and spouses…each has their place.

I have a personal struggle with my relationship with food. It’s something that’s been demonstrated over decades that I cannot control. I’m not sure what woke me up on it, but this month is a month to fight back for me. To involve others, cause I know what failure feels like alone, and I cannot imagine any victory without accountability and involvement from others. My encouragement is to lean in to being around other trustworthy guys, invite them into some things you are enjoying or some things you may be processing through.

Uncharted Territory

We rucked to Racquetball and up to Weigels hill through the apartments and down 10 Mile Rd and made the loop in Eagle Brook subdivision and back. Well run it back for sure.

COT: talked about weeds, what needs to be cut down and pulled up. What are things and attitudes in your life that need to be cut down and pulled out to make you better?

We also talked about the marvels of modern surgical abilities.

The Quest for Halloween Decorations

We moved fast, and covered a lot of ground today. We were seeking Halloween Decorations with two specific stops in mind. We were 4 minutes late as a result, and did the COT on the fly during the last half mile.

COT Topic was about my daughter and critical thinking, as she was uncomfortable with a question in school. The paraphrase was something like why do we teach children religion, and the answer was that they are impressionable. She said that made her uncomfortable and we were able to have a great conversation about discernment, wisdom, truth, and religion.

Also 3 runners, Toretto, Mailbox, & Anchorman. 2 Dogs joined the ruckers, and I am sorry for the blurry pic.

We rucked the Catholic loop and discussed Hurricane Helene’s devastation, getting kicked off the school bus and whether Oasis is bigger than the Beatles.

Q SIGNUPS had me down for the day, but I did not sign up, so we went with the calendar.

We warmed up and did a revised version of the no glove love workout, that focuses on lunges and wall squats. 10-1.

Then we did three rounds of 20 heels elevated squats, and split squats.

Next we grabbed blocks and repeated 3x the following:
20 good mornings
50 bench press
20 Curls

Finally we moseyed back to the flag where we did an ab exercise with 10 merkins in between until time expired. We all called one exercise and did 60 total merkins.
