Money is necessary, but we must be careful about our relationship with it. As Paul points out, money is not the root of evil, but the Love of money. This requires constant regrounding and cross checking. In my experience, one of the most helpful actions you can take to support a healthy relationship with money is to make giving your top priority.

COT:

Ezekiel 4:4-6 & 9-12 show God telling Ezekiel to do some very hard things that don’t have an apparent immediate benefit for anybody.

Have there been times in your life, or are you in one now, where things are hard or painful and it doesn’t seem to be for any good reason at all? Remember the promises from the Bible: God is in control. He knows the outcome. He controls the outcome. He has promised good outcomes for those who love Him and are called to his purpose.

Final thoughts: watch out for that Ezekiel bread…

On the way back to the flag carrying our weight a Jailbreak was called and made it the best start to the day!

COT: Mark 9:14-24

This is the healing of a young boy with a mute spirit. I just now realized this directly after the transfiguration on the mount.
Jesus is approached by the father of the child who says the boy has been like this since early childhood and
“But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”

23 Jesus said to him, “If[d] you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”

Q also shared the life of Takeshi Nagai who lived through the atomic bomb in Nagasaki and his journey through faith.

When you struggle with belief, when you feel sound in your beliefs, remember that He is the light and guidepost to keep you strong.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Escape from Haw Ridge

COT:
St. Patrick was a British saint who was enslaved by the Irish at a young age. God gave him a vision one day of how and when to escape so he did fleeing back to Britain and devoting his life to the Lord.

You might ask why St. Patrick is revered in Irish folklore, well he got another vision to go back to Ireland and evangelize the Pagans that lived there. He is considered the reason Christianity was brought to Ireland in the first place.

What stands out to me about St. Patrick was his willingness to obey the calling God placed on his life.

While we’re not all called to convert thousands by preaching the gospel, God has a calling for each one of us. Maybe our calling is to be a good dad, husband, brother, son, etc. or maybe God is calling you to get outside of your comfort zone. Maybe you’re living your calling or maybe we need to make some sort of adjustment to be in better alignment with His calling. One thing is clear, we’ve each been given today as a gift.

Let’s all take one step further down the path of obedience today, just like St. Patrick did with his captors. He loved others and loved God so much that he was willing to go back to those who imprisoned him to save them. Let’s choose obedience this day.
