    • Plant flag between 2 temporary high beam lights provided by Steam

    • Maneuver under enemy watch/fire

“Periods vs. Commas”

  • The enemy tries to place periods in our life (death of a family member, a hard time, loss of job or loved one, tragedy like Vegas shooting, etc) that insinuate the game is over, that’s the end of the story. God looks at that and turns it into a comma instead, allowing whatever hard or difficult thing we’re going through or experiencing to not be the end of the story, just more of a pause as he carries us through to the “next part of the sentence” or stage of life.
  • Whatever periods you have experienced in your life and may be experiencing now –> God will turn that into a comma and carry you through.
  • Your story is not over. The is not the end. What seems like a unsurpassable period in your life is not the end of the story. Trust God to turn it into a comma and help you realize that there is more to come. You were made for more than to just be defeated by whatever period the enemy has put in your life.

THA-THANG:

Circuit. AMRAP 5 Minutes.

  • Round 1:
    • Calf Raises x20
    • Lunges x20
    • Run lap around parking lot.
  • Round 2:
    • LBC x20
    • Sundial x20
    • Run lap around parking lot.

Mosey to new, big parking lot.

  • Do exercise at every light pole on the outside of the parking lot. When you make it a full lap, do burpees until everyone gets back.
  • Round 1: Squats x10
  • Round 2: Merkins x(Pick your own poison)

Mosey to base of Cardiac Hill via new path. LBCs and American Hammers along the way to keep up the good cheer.

Cardiac Hill.

  • Sprint to first turn.
  • Merkins x10
  • Sprint to second turn.
  • Squats x10-20
  • Sprint to top.
  • LBC x20.
  • Mosey back down. Rinse and Repeat.
  • Lead group began doing lunges up Cardiac Hill on the 3rd ascent, picking up the PAX along the way. Then back to the (absent) flag.

Mr. Ed has a torn ACL. It’s been torn for 5 years (what?). Surgery is scheduled for December. YHC felt that was too long to wait. This PAX prayed for complete healing NOW. Cause that’s what a Good Father wants to do for His boys.
MOLESKIN:

I woke up late. Didn’t have a good plan the workout. Felt scattered. Didn’t have a good WORD ready for the COT. Then Mr. Ed shared about his ACL being torn and the upcoming surgery and asked that we pray for a quick recovery…after surgery. BOOM. It hit me. “There it is. Here’s the moment. Stop feeling guilty about not having something ‘prepared’ and STAY PREPARED to live freely in the moment.” I was immediately convinced this was no accident. “Mr. Ed, yeah, we’re going to pray for a quick recovery. But not for a quick recovery two months from now. We’re going to ask our Good Father for a quick recovery NOW.” A Good Father doesn’t give his boys snakes when they ask for bread. So, Father, sure, we’ll give you glory if you want to slowly heal Mr. Ed’s ACL post surgery. But we would much rather brag about how You healed Mr. Ed’s ACL without surgery.

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
I want to talk a little bit about the grace of God. When I think of the grace of God, I think of my sins being forgiven. I think of Jesus on the cross. I think of his his life given for you and for me. I think of forgiveness. Unmerited favor.

And yes, my sins have been washed away, BUT my sin nature is still hanging on. Whether it’s lust, or pride, or greed, that nature is hanging on.

I must remember, I am FORGIVEN by his grace, AND by his grace I am given DIVINE STRENGTH to live in a way that pleases God. God’s grace is the power to obey. The power to change. The power to leave those sins behind and live a life of obedience to the glory of God.

It is no accident that all within the same chapter of James we read:

  • You do not have, because you do not ask
  • He gives more grace.
  • “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
  • Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.
  • What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.

WARM-O-RAMA:

Warm-up with some arm circles and tempo squats. Encouraged quality and form over quantity.
THA-THANG:
Jogged to the soccer fields where glow sticks were placed on the fours corners of the field and in the center of the field. One 2man team and one 3man team started at different corners. While one man did the following exercise, the other would sprint to the center and do 10 burps then sprint back to corner and trade places. Then the team would jog to the next corner. We did 2 full laps. We then jogged to the chapel where we did 25 reverent pew dips then 1 minute wall sit (x3). We then jogged back towards AO, sprinted the hill and finished with a merkin ring of fire. FOUR CORNERS in a nutshell….

  • Sprint to center of soccer field, (10 burpees), sprint back, Merkins until parter(s) finished the same. Jog to next corner.
  • Sprint to center (10 burps), sprint back, Squat jumps until partner(s) finished the same. Jog to next corner
  • Corners 3 and 4 were Single Leg Thrusters and Apollo Ohnos
  • Jog to chapel, 25 pew dips, 1 minute wall sit, 25 pew dips, 1 minute wall sit, 25 pew dips, 1 min wall sit.
  • Jog to AO, sprint the hill, finish with a merkin ring of fire
