ANNOUNCEMENTS:

COT: I wished I had an encouraging word to share today, but a message was recently shared that I wanted to pass along. Do you memorize Bible scripture? It has been a very long time since I was intentional about this. I think that sometimes we take for granted the resources we have access to today: our Bible apps on our phones, our ministers, etc. These are important and can be helpful, but we can rely on these heavily, or at least I tend to do so. We see examples of people being commended for studying, like the noble Bereans in Acts 17:10-11. The Bereans verified what Paul taught them to confirm that it was in alignment with God’s word. Memorizing scripture can help us quickly recall the truth in God’s word. It can keep us from sinning because we can recall the commands of God. We also need to be cautious about trusting without verifying what we are taught from scripture. Paul cautions the elders in Ephesus:
‭‭Acts 20:29-32 NASB1995‬‬
[29] I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; [30] and from among your own selves men will arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them. [31] Therefore be on the alert, remembering that night and day for a period of three years I did not cease to admonish each one with tears. [32] And now I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
‭‭The wolves are disguised as sheep within the flock.
Matthew 7:15 NASB1995‬‬
[15] “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
Study your Bibles frequently and commit its words to memory.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

COT:
”Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.“
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭31‬-‭32‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Unforgiveness is a tomb that we bury ourselves in.

If you harbor unforgiveness in your heart, you have limited love.

Oh yeah, have you forgiven yourself? Regret is an anchor ⚓️ you can let go of.

Radical forgiveness gives you resurrection power! What did Jesus say from the cross, “Father forgive them…”

Surround yourself with men that will call you forward. Men that will hold you accountable.

Thank you

[running] OTB run on the knoxville half course

PAX: Toretto, Anchorman, Erector, Honeydew, Mermaid

We met this morning to show Toretto more of the Knoxville Half course to help him get some knowledge for the April half (his first). Erector did mile repeats around us, and with the hills that we tackled today, our pace was a little slower than normal. That could also be a week of tough workouts and not feeling fresh.

We welcome anyone and any pace! If you or anyone you know wants to jump in on the OTB running group, we run most Saturday’s generally for one hour. Spread the word and help some guys get into running or help others connect to a group!

Our Blessing

COT: We are, in general, a very blessed nation. Oftentimes, we do not count our blessings from God, and we take them for granted. At church, we sing a song “Count your blessings, name them one by one.” We need to remember to be grateful for all of our blessings, but this morning, I want to mention one blessing in particular that we especially shouldn’t take for granted: our wives. Proverbs 31 contains a description of a wife’s worthiness. In particular, verse 10 tells of her worth. “Her worth is far above jewels.” Our wives are a treasure that is far above value. If you are anything like me, you probably don’t tell her this often enough. She needs to know! There are far too many marriages that end for many reasons. Don’t let lack of appreciation for all she does be a reason for strife in your marriages.
