5 Round CMUesday

THE SCENE: A warm early fall morning. Not as cool as I’d like.

SSH x20 IC
Cobra Burpees x5 IC
Tempo merkins x10 IC
Crabettes x10 IC
TN Rocking Chairs x10 IC

Carry CMUs over to the corner of the parking lot where the stash used to be, just for nostalgia sake.

We have 5 rounds of 20 reps of each exercise:

  • Squat Thrust
  • 4ct Curls
  • BBS (CMU on chest)
  • Up/Over Merkins (each side = 1)
  • Alpos

After each round, take laps around the parking lot. Round 1 = 1 lap, Round 2 = 2 laps, etc.

If you finished, it was 100 reps of each, plus 15 laps around the parking lot. YHC didn’t quite finish.

Barely sneaked in 30x 4ct LBCs
9 CMUs plus 2 ruck plates = 11 PAX
Repeat of James 3. Because I still haven’t got mine tamed yet:
Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness. 2 For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body. 3 If we put bits into the mouths of horses so that they obey us, we guide their whole bodies as well. 4 Look at the ships also: though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs. 5 So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things.

How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life,[a] and set on fire by hell.[b] 7 For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by mankind, 8 but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God. 10 From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers,[c] these things ought not to be so. 11 Does a spring pour forth from the same opening both fresh and salt water? 12 Can a fig tree, my brothers, bear olives, or a grapevine produce figs? Neither can a salt pond yield fresh water.

Really looking forward to when it finally gets cool… That was not today.
Hardship hill is just ahead!

If you are accelerating, always look around and make sure you bring pull someone with you. I recently self imposed a 10 day challenge to workout every day, and my brothers supported me and kept me accountable to help me reach my goal. But I didn’t feel like I thought at the end, because I realized I missed an opportunity to push someone else to go a little further. Never forget to reach back if you are lucky enough to climb.

Philippians 4:8 – Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

Where are your thoughs pinned? When everything goes slack, when you have downtime, when you’re pumping gas or driving the kids to school, where does your mind go? Train your mind’s muscle memory to go back to the things mentioned above.

I hate running.
Harship Hill Oct 2!
