COT
Reflecting on my 20s and F3’s role in my life

This is my last day in my 20s. Over the past decade, my life has changed and evolved drastically. Some of the big, definitive things that come to mind from this decade for me are (in no particular order):
— Graduating college
— Graduating the Knoxville Fellows thanks to G-6
— Finding F3
— Going through an excruciating coming out of Egypt season
— God calling me back to sonship and inviting me to be loved by Him and accept His grace and mercy
— Losing friends
— Losing family members
— The hardcore pursuit of the military and the mourning of that season and fight coming to an end
— Professional flailing
— The global pandemic
— Going through severe depression and isolation
— Investing into lies vs. truth
— Addiction
— Redemption
— Restoration
— Finding friends that I can call brothers
— By the grace of God, creating a new family with my wife Megan
— Waged a brutal war against my flesh
— My hard-heartedness slowly being chiseled away
— Re-introduced to what a healthy family can look like
— Being baptized
— Coming to the understanding that even though I left turned away from God in countless ways, He never turned away from me

Verses
– 2 Timothy 4:17 — But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me, so that I might fully preach the word and all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion’s mouth
– This is where my name comes from — God rescuing Daniel from the lions’ mouth in Daniel 6 in the Bible
– If you let him – He will stand by you, strengthen you, and equip you with everything you need – even if it doesn’t feel like it sometimes

– 1 Corinthians 13:11 — When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put aside childish things.
– In many ways I still feel like a child
– In many ways I feel like a man
– In every way I still need to rely on God and that He truly is a good, good father. I’ve got nothing else.

I’m so grateful for all of you, and for F3. The gift it has been in my life for 8 years has defined, shaped, and molded me into who I want to be going into the next decade and beyond. Thank you all for being a part of this journey with me.

At church we’re going through a study called soundtracks. 🔈

What you see impacts what you hear 👂
What you hear impacts what you think 💭
What are the soundtracks in our lives?

Neither negative or positive situations or thoughts 💭 should take you away from God.

We need to learn and adjust the volume on the soundtracks in our lives.

COT:
KickFlip was out a couple of weeks ago and he was reflecting on a message that Archie delivered… Coming to F3 does not make you a HIM. I agree with this statement. It doesn’t. There are also several HIMs that have never been to an F3 workout. We need to get them out here with us.

F3 also doesn’t count as church. ⛪️ If you’re here and don’t have a church you call home, I would personally like to invite you to Faith Promise where me and my family attend. There’s a spreadsheet floating around with a lot of our F3 brothers and the churches they belong to. So again, I encourage you to check it out, if you don’t have a church you call home.

I will say this though… Being out here in the gloom with these men is a great foundation and starting point. Surrounding yourselves with High Impact Men, is going to encourage you to strive to be one yourself. I know, because I’m speaking from experience. You push me to be my best, not only when I’m out here with you, but also when no one else is around. Thank you!

COT: Seeking wisdom to choose and execute a righteous path, a path that will serve, and yes, a path that will reward. I think about the freedom, and release of burden associated with dropping the false façade’s we in leadership roles, and in business trap ourselves within.
It’s about opening your heart, so your mind is open to receive wisdom. Self aggrandizing, can close your heart to others and only serves to falsely exalt/elevate you. This separates you from others. Separating yourself only prevents your ability to receive wisdom from those around you. You may ask Him for wisdom, but your own pride can interfere with your ability to hear His word, and receive the gift of wisdom. Exalting oneself is to hold yourself above others. This separation may also separate you from receiving the wisdom you may be seeking.

In Matthew 23:12, Jesus declares, “Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.” Similarly, Proverbs 22:4 reminds us that pride leads to disgrace, while humility brings forth wisdom. Pride blinds us to our dire need for salvation and corrupts our spiritual growth.

Thank you for working out wholeheartedly. Whole heart is our goal. It’s what we admire. consider your heroes. One: have heroes. They motivate us. Two: they gave their all and the best example of this is Jesus who gave even his life to have a relationship with you. Jeremiah 29:13 says: you will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
My challenge to you today is to give your whole heart and what the Lord has for you to do.
