Mosey up to Maple Street building for 4 corners. Do 2 rounds of the following:

  • 20 squats
  • 20 Mountain climbers (2-ct)
  • 20 Merkins
  • 10 burpees

Mosey to the base of JUCOmanjaro. At every other marked line, stop and do the 1st exercise below. Next time do the 2nd exercise and so on. Repeat to the top.

  • 20 merkins

  • 5 burpees

Mosey back down and back over to Maple Street for another round of 4 corners. Repeat until time is called.

YHC has been following a Bible reading plan to go through the Bible in a year. It is a chronological study and I just finished up Job. The book of Job has a lot of great lessons. Lessons about struggle and trusting in God. This morning, I wanted to focus on Job’s friends. His friends came to him in a time of need. They sat with him for 7 days and the Bible says that no-one spoke during this time. When they did speak, they started trying to figure out what Job most have done wrong to bring on the agony that he had experienced. In fact, Job had done nothing wrong. His friends, though their intentions were most likely good, they were not exactly encouraging. The message this morning was to encourage those around us when they are going through difficult times. We as men often try to fix things when we think there is something that can be fixed. More often than not, all it takes is making it known that we are there to support our brothers.

  • 25 squats, 25 jump squats, 25(6) lunges total, same as above
  • 25 heels to Heaven, 25 big boy sit-ups, 25 pistol crunch each side, same as above

Mosey to the amphitheater. 2 sets of 10 box jumps at the bottom, 10 dive bombers at the top, and 10 pull-ups at the playground. 15 burpees and bear crawl to the top of hill. Mosey to the shovel flag.

Now more than ever, we are limited with options, but try to get creative. F3 workouts are a great way to build relationships that hopefully will last a lifetime. YHC has heard this passage or a portion of it a few times in the past days. I thought it was worth sharing this morning given the state of the world. It is always encouraging to think of the good things in life and, more importantly, the life to come when times are tough.

A prayful world

THA-THANG:

Mosey to the football field/track.

Perform 1st & 10:

100 yard field marked at 10 yard increments. Perform 10 Merkins, 1 Burpee (11’s) at the 10, sprint the remaining 90 yards. Recover jog back to the 20. Perform 9 Merkins, 2 Burpees, sprint the remaining 80 yards, recover jog to the 30. Repeat until all 100 yards and 11’s have been completed.

Mosey back to the parking lot around the shovel flag.

Perform 7 of Diamonds:

Performed on a large diamond (i.e. the parking lot). For the first round, do 7 reps of an exercise (burpees) at each of the 4 corners with a mosey (or sprint) in between corners. Each round, increase by 7 reps with a different exercise each round, for a total of 4 rounds. Round 2, 14 four count flutter kicks at each of the 4 corners. Round 3, 21 merkins at each of the 4 corners. Round 4, 28 squats at each of the 4 corners.

YHC has spoken about prayer before. Honestly, it is one of the hardest things for me to remember to do. The Bible instructs us to “Pray without ceasing.”- 1 Thess. 5:17. This is like a constant prayerful state to be in throughout your day. Always seeking wisdom from God in prayer. I feel like I recognize the power of pray, but perhaps I am not fully aware. Challenge yourself in this coming year to be more prayerful. Find a way to make it a habit, make it a consistent part of your day. Encourage those around you to do the same.

If you want to be reminded about how small we truly are, read the creation account in Genesis. God made mankind in His own image. Some times we may try to twist that around and make God out to be who we want Him to be. The fact is that He created us. We need to take our place at His feet, be obedient to His will, and submissive to His word.
