LBAC x20 Fwd/Back IC

THA-THANG:
Mosey on over near the base of Mt Crumpet. On one path, there’s a cone set up. On the other path, we find a pile of boards, each with an exercise.
Each PAX throws their board across the stream at the cone. Mosey around to the other side, furthest one from the cone is the exercise we do.

Exercises are:
10x Al Gore Tucks
20x Star Jacks
20x Diamond Merkins
Crab-Walk/Walk-Crab up the hill
Bear-Crawl/Crawl-Bear up the hill
30x BBS
15x Burpees
20x Monkey Humpers
35x 4-ct Mountain Climbers

First 3 throws come up AGT. Decided to retire each board after it loses!
Made it through all but Burpees and Monkey Humpers before we ran out of time.

3/4″x3″x10″ boards are surprisingly difficult to throw! Several ended up in the stream, 2 actually got stuck IN THE TREE.

COUNT-OFF & NAME-O-RAMA
As Pinocchio put it, 10 men discovered that their chances of surviving in the Australian outback with a boomerang are… minimal.
CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
Stolen from Proton’s BOM yesterday at JUCO, ‘cuz it was that good…

It’s a common thing for us to think about the people that have influenced our lives.  Usually if someone asks you what person has had the most influence, you look externally and think of a parent, a teacher, a coach, or even Jesus Christ.  But even as much as all these influence you, the biggest influence is yourself.  The choices that you make every day both define your future path and make you who you are, action by action, for better or for worse.  Even trying to coast through life and avoid those tough choices is a choice in itself.  We can’t avoid them, so embrace them head on. Be alert for those opportunities, and make that tough choice that puts others first, that builds your character, that honors God.
MOLESKIN:
The cone was originally meant to be at the top of Mount Crumpet, but it was too dark to even see the cone, much less read what was written on the boards.  And dang, 3/4″x3″x10″ boards are surprisingly difficult to throw! Several ended up in the stream, 2 actually got stuck IN THE TREE.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Great job everyone who’s recovering from the CSAUP.  Prayers for Squeaker’s cousin Jill and two daughters, who just lost husband/father in a car accident.

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
Nothing extremely profound today. It was my final Q… for the month of January. February is a new month with a bunch of opportunities to step up and lead!
Over January I snagged a Q at each of the 7 Knoxville AOs. Getting out and working with men from all the areas of town was a real joy and privilege. If your AO’s slots get filled up, grab a Q or two at another AO. You’ll be glad you did!
MOLESKIN:
Apparently box jumps on the big rocks by the hill are deemed a bit risky by most of the PAX. Something about not wanting to fall down a cliff or something? I dunno. Some of them managed to not jump all the way over their rocks…

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
1 Corinthians 9:24-27
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

We are all out here this morning exercising physical discipline in training our bodies. I probably wouldn’t exactly call F3 strict training, but it does take a good amount of self-discipline to pull your socks on at 5am and get out in the cold. And, as anyone who’s been away from the gloom for a while can tell you, the “crown” we gain out here of a modicum of physical fitness certainly doesn’t last.

So I want to encourage you throughout the day to exercise in your spiritual life that same level and more of self-discipline and the intentionality of action, looking forward to the prize that your Lord has for you.

MOLESKIN:
It was great sharing the gloom with you HIMs this morning! Sorry to Peach Fuzz for getting the “same Q second verse” treatment, having experienced the balance at JUCO on Monday…

Alcoa CSAUP Event – February 24

Mark your calendar and make the HC, 2018’s first CSAUP event is next month, and it’s FREE!

On SaturdayFebruary 24th we will gather at 6:00am at the Bomb Shelter (aka Springbrook Park Rec Center) for an epic morning.  UPDATE! Due to another event starting from the Springbrook Recreation Center later that day, please park in the church parking lot at 617 Gilbert Street! It’s just a short walk from there to the start point at Springbrook. We’ll start with a quick warm up workout and then head out.  The event will cover approximately 10 miles and include 5 different “stops” along the way where various PAX members will lead us in a short workout before continuing on.  You can check out the route at this plotaroute.com map.

This event is NOT about speed, it’s about working hard and getting better together!  We start together and finish together.  Set the goal and then come out and give it all you have.  No man left behind, no man left the same.

Check out the awesome shirt design at: https://f3.mudgear.com/products/f3-alcoa-csaup-shirt-pre-order.

8 PAX, including FNG: Jammies (Paul Hester Jr). Progeny of Peach Fuzz!
CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
Colossians 3:23: Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.

This was spoken by Paul specifically toward slaves and their relationship to their masters, but of course it applies to us as well. I’m often guilty (this past week in particular) do doing things grudgingly rather than heartily. Whether it’s for your master, your employer, your spouse, your in-laws… do it heartily. Your mind has a lot of control over your emotions. If you make that choice, not only will you be honoring to God, you’ll do a better job and be happier for it.

MOLESKIN:
Props to Jammies for finally posting after a bunch of EHing from all sides! Heads up, Big Ballers… I think the balance may be headed your way on Thursday. I’ll start the handful a bit smaller so we can get more in!
