Mr. Spectacular and the Victory Lap

THE SCENE: 71 and muggy but we did not get mugged! Saw a Fox on the Ruck!
F3 WELCOME & DISCLAIMER
WARM-O-RAMA:

Everything based on OCHO! Team OCHO won the HHH 10 hr race so why not celebrate it with reps of 8!

SSH x 8 iC

Rockettes x8 IC in a circle with Tank calling the cadence

Squats x 8 IC

Merkins x8 IC

Shoulder taps x8 ic

Mr. Spectacular x8 OYO . Mr. Spectacular is easy if you do one, but do LOTS and LOTS of them and they suck!. Put the CMU on the ground, feet on either side of the CMU, bend over and put your hand son the ground in front of your feet, walk your hands out until you are in the push up/plank position, do a MERKIN and walk your hands back to your feet, pick up the CMU and do a thruster. repeat that about 100 times and let me know how you feel, spectacular! Not……..
THA-THANG:

  • Partner up  and make a victory lap to the Matterhorn. Partner one Farmer Scurries(run or fast walk) with 2 CMU while P2 stays behind and does 8 merkins and 8 squat jumps. Once done P2 runs to catch P1. P1 hands off CMUs to P2 and P2 takes off while P1 stays back for 8 merkins and 8 sq jumps. You get it? Do this all the way to the Base camp of Matterhorn.
  • We had 28 so we stayed with our partner. P1 ran halfway up Matter horn and does 8 Big boys(incline) while P2 stays at the bottom and does 8 Mr. spectaculars. Switch out when P1 runs back. P1 now does Mr. Spectacular and P2 runs up and does 8 big boys
  • We do this with the goal of running up the matterhorn 8 times…imagine that, 8 times!
  • Well, due to time, I think we ran up the hill 5 times. Some may have ran 6 and some may have run 4. Either way, we kept moving and NO ONE stopped! Way to work men!
  • You all are Spectacular!
  • Partner up and complete the victory lap back to the AO. Again with P1 cmu farmer scurry and P2 does exercises. then run to catch and switch up….

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
HIM ( High Impact man) or as Detention puts it. Humble Invest Mental. The acronym that I love and used it on TANK. he exuded ALL three this past weekend and really, the past several months, planning for the Hardship Hill event. Tank put himself last and his HUMBLE disposition was apparent(by the way, I know Tank pretty well and he is a SMARTASS too, LOL!!). He INVESTED himself for the sole purpose of raising money for OEW by dedicating a tone of time and effort into the Hardship Hill race. With the stresses of putting on such an event, he showed MENTAL toughness through out and never waivered on his attitude. Not to say deep down(like all of us) he was stressing a little, but he NEVER burdened anybody with his stresses about the event. He was always positive. Truly a HIM and I am proud to call him my F3 brotha but more importantly , my friend!
MOLESKIN:
Don’t be like Tank, be your self but take the “HIM” and apply it to your everyday actions. I know I need to! Love you guys!
ANNOUNCEMENTS:Tank, when the hell is the next one!? LOL!

For the guys that finished first, they partnered up with the guys that had not finished. As they partners , each pax counted their reps toward the 99 needed(Like DORAs) Once the said exercise was completed, the buddies ran the hill instead of a lap. Pretty much all pax ended up running the hill regardless of partnering up or not. Plunger helped me finish my Dry docks and he pushed me to sprint up the hill. Thanks Buddy!

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
What is the mission of F3? To Plant, Grow, and serve small workout groups to invigorate male community leadership! Well, based on that and what I read on the survey, most guys don’t want to Q because they feel uncomfortable , I think F3 is a huge success in Knoxville but we can do better to invigorate male community leadership. We buddy up, yes. We push our selves physically, yes, but how much are we really pushing our brothers to be leaders in our community?

Well, if you look at the F3 nation website, it gives 10 things a new guy should know. #5 says Q a workout. By leading workout, it enables you to lead your peers. Lets all be more proactive in getting more men to Q, If you brought an FNG out and he has been posting on a regular basis, get him to Q. We need more positive peer pressure for guys to Q! Anybody can do it. If I can do it, anyone can!

MOLESKIN:
I have Q’d several times. I like to Q and I like to sign up, BUT I get a lot of anxiety the night before and sometimes doubt myself. So why do I Q? I do it to challenge myself and get out of my comfort Zone. I am certainly good at one on one situations but put me in front of a bunch of my peers, men I look up to and respect tremendously and I get a bit of stage fright. I guess what I am saying is, if I can do it, so can you. If you have anxiety about leading a workout, then I think you should JUMP IN and Q! The only way we can get better is to do things we are not so good at. WHY did I or any F3 pax join F3? Well, we were looking for something different. Now that we are in F3 and for those that have been in F3 for a while, we need to evolve as the leaders we are meant to be. We need to put our big boy pants on and embrace the things we are not so comfortable with. More or less, Embrace the Suck or become a stale fish!

Just one of those days where you don’t want to be or do. I was on Q of course but yesterday and today was just one of those days that I struggled to wake up and post at F3. But, the big BUTT! I could have stayed in my bed aka comfort zone but told myself that these are the times you need to suck it up and BE and DO!
MOLESKIN

i Figured we might have 6-8 guys….maybe that was me not feeling it and thought the rest of the guys would not be feeling it and not show up. I was DEAD WRONG! So glad I sucked it up and was there this morning! Not only did we have 6 guys Rucking but we had 14 men total for the F3 workout . So greatful for you guys and to know that you guys were there to embrace the suck with me!

Sometimes, it’s ok to not want to do or be but those are the times to really challenge yourself . AYE!

Nothing inspirational for me to say but we did carry the cow for almost an hour and covered just over 2.5 miles with out it touching the ground This could only be done working as a team and we conquered ! Not a lot of miles, no lung busting runs,  not a lot of reps of said exercise , just team work and embracing the suck together !

Chase the Lion Manifesto!. Instead of me typing it up here, google it and it will come up. Capn Crunch read this to us at one of his Q’s for his BOM one morning. It has stuck with me and I try to read it every so often to get a life check. Its short and sweet but means so much to me. Thank you for sharing Capn! I love to share it with others.
MOLESKIN:
I miss seeing my bros at the Dog Pound. So many AOs and so many great HIMS out there that I look up to at all the different AOs. I encourage more Pax to go visit other AOs to meet others and grow our community. Not saying to stop going to the one closest to you, but one morning every once and while, wake up a little earlier and drive a little further to visit other AOs and meet the HIMs that make their particular AO special. Thanks to all the HIMS at all the AOs for being who you are, leaders!
