  • Indian run to baby everest
    • Battle buddy up.  DORA each of the following exercises while partner runs to top of baby everest and does 5 squats.  Move to other side of parking lot perform ab work while waiting on the 6.
      • 100 Thrust Merkins
      • 100 Carolina Dry Docks
  • Mosey to the long island
    • 8 cones set up around the island.  Run a lap around performing the following exercises x 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16 at each cone.
      • Lap 1:  Burpees
      • Lap 2:  Iron Mikes
  • Mosey back to baby everest for some pyramids
    1. 20 tempo squats, run hill

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:  My heart has been focused on my relationship to Jesus and whether or not I’m all in or not.   As Americans we tend to mold Jesus to fit our lifestyle and our comforts, when actually it should be the other way around.  Take a moment and ask yourself….are you living 100% for Christ or are you fitting him into your routine?   In Matthew 13 Jesus tells a parable which compares Heaven to a treasure that is found in a field.   The man who finds the treasure covers it up and then sells all he has to buy the field.  I’m sure the man in the parable faced ridicule from others who thought he was crazy to sell all of his possessions to buy the field, however he knew the value contained within the ground therefore he gladly accepted the ridicule.  That’s the perspective we should have…our faith in Christ should be such a treasure to us that we willingly accept ridicule, punishment, even death because we know that the prize is of so much greater value than anything this world can offer.

Ring Around The Mosey

THA-THANG:
We began with a mosey through the park.  We made sure to stay at a pace where everyone could stay relatively close together.

Stop 1 was at the Fountain and we did 10 Burpees OYO and held Al Gore until 6 up.

Continue the Mosey up the hill.

Stop 2 was at the top of the big hill at the back of the park and we did 20 merkins and 20 squats OYO.  Held Al Gore until 6 up.

Continue Mosey back down to Mt. Crumpet, which just so happened to be our 3rd stop.

At Mt. Crumpet, we did 5 ascents up the hill.

  • Ascent 1 was a bear crawl
  • Ascent 2 was a sprint
  • Ascent 3 was a bear crawl
  • Ascent 4 was a sprint
  • Ascent 5 was a bear crawl

Burpees OYO until 6 up.  Continued our ring around the mosey all the way around the park to the base of the hill that climbs to the grinder.  This was Stop #4.

We circled up and did a burpee circle of pain.  The circle held an Al Gore and we took turns doing a burpee until we reach 52 burpees, which was 4 rounds.  We sprinted the hill to the grinder and back.

At this point, we had 7 minutes before I wanted to start Mary, so we just cashed out the beat down portion by doing an AMRAP of 5 Pull-Ups, 10 Merkins, 15 Squats.

In Romans 12, the Bible tells us to strip off every weight that so easily entangles us and run with endurance.  That really gets me thinking about Jesus telling his disciples that they and we would face trials and tribulations, but to take heart because he overcame the world.

A lot of times, we get caught wanting life to be a nice, easy mosey through to the end, but that will NEVER be the case.  We serve a very real God, but we also fight a very real enemy who seeks to destroy us and our families.  Life is going to be hard and it will throw curve balls at you.  How you respond to the difficult times and the mentality with which you attack those difficult times can and will make or break you.

Jesus telling his disciples to take heart in today’s terms is him telling his disciples to keep a positive mindset.  Don’t ever let negativity creep in or come out of your mouth because it is like a cancer that will infect those around you as well.  I apologized to the group for any times that I let negativity come out of my mouth during beat downs and vowed to try not to do that anymore.  It may suck, but we are fighting and winning the battle to be our best self.

Run the race of life with endurance and always keep a positive mindset.

Life is too short to get upset about stupid little annoyances in our lives. I have been working on this the past 6 months and my wife says I’m sweeter to her. I can tell we are closer and more loving when I’m not always trying to educate and correct her. She is my best friend and not identical to me. If I accept her as she is we lead a much happier life with a tight relationship.

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
Yesterday morning my family’s plans for this week got wildly upended. Nothing terrible overall, but just significantly different from plan. That kind of thing can be upsetting and aggravating, but I was reminded that God works all things for the good of those who love Him. I don’t know yet why that interruption came to be, but it’s an opportunity to trust that God is in control and has a greater purpose beyond our limited knowledge. When your plans get interrupted, take that moment to look around for what God is doing. Trust Him and look for opportunities to join Him in what He’s doing.
MOLESKIN:
Nothing like starting out the beatdown with completely soaked feet right out the gate… There was an unavoidable ankle-deep puddle at the entrance of the tennis court when I went to turn on the lights. Shoulda just warmed up in the dark…
