CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
Easter has come and gone. It’s always been one of my favorite holidays. I’ve always been a very stubborn and found it difficult to forgive others who have wronged me in the past. I think this is why I am drawn to Easter because it is a time for forgiveness. Stripped, bound, beaten and crucified, Jesus called for God to forgive those who persecuted him. In times of distress and during the trials of our own lives, may we have the love and resolve to forgive those who have wronged us.

Jesus died on the cross to forgive all humanity of their sins including past, present, and future sins. Although we are imperfect beings, I think we can draw from this act of love and forgiveness. Jesus calls for us to love our enemies and forgive those who have trespassed against us. May we all put our judgement aside and live into this moving forward and become more Christlike.

We are Easter people. Spread the Good News.

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
“About thirty years ago there was much talk that geologists ought only to observe and not theorise; and I well remember some one saying that at this rate a man might as well go into a gravel-pit and count the pebbles and describe the colours. How odd it is that anyone should not see that all observation must be for or against some view if it is to be of any service!” — Charles Darwin

I was asked to interpret this quote last Friday. While it’s intended for science, the applicability of this quote has relevance to this time. Every day we make observations, but many times we let them stay as observations. Sometimes this is okay.. but if we extend this quote to our lives today, I think what Darwin is linking is the connection between observation and action. Observations of rocks are useless without taking action into how and why the observations matter. In the same way, F3 nation seeks to inspire HIM who not only can make observations, but transform those observations into actions to make our communities a better place. Let’s not be passive, but instead take a stand for justice and truth in our communities, and inspire others to do the same.

The mumblechatter was high today! Good work everyone.

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
Love my time here in Alcoa F3.  It has been over 3 years of hot, snowy, frigid, downpours and few perfect temp days of hard workouts but I loved every minute of it.  Going to miss the amazing history lessons from Hammy, trying to keep up with Snorkel, Veep’s odd funnel stories, beer rucks, heart felt messages from Drifter, carrying bowling balls, turkeys, and swords around like it’s normal, dressing up as Mario with Snorkel as Luigi, Waxjob Hill, The Educator, Mt. Crumpet, Hellbender Bend,  and I am going to miss all the encouraging words by each and every member that passed my way.  See you all in the gloom some day soon.

Read this quote from the opening to the album “Worthy” by Beautiful Eulogy.

We will not lose heart
Even though this present age will waste away
We will surely suffer, but it’s a slight momentary trouble
The deconstruction is painful, but the transformation is beautiful
When we the children of God are crushed under the heavy affliction of this world, be reminded that it’s weightless in comparison to the eternal measure of God’s glory
We have lost our eyes for the unseen and have swallowed the false hope of the visible
We must realize the empty grave and revel in the certainty of His resurrection with assurance of renewal, considering it worthy to suffer for the faith
So we will worship while we wait

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
There’s no lasting fulfillment in being the greatest -AND- you’re a lot less likely to win. It’s so obvious when you think about it. Why do the worlds greatest athletes leave to form Super Teams in LA or Tampa Bay?

Teams are memorable. If I asked you- you could name more aware winning sports teams, bands, company’s, & military groups than great athletes, rock stars, billionaire’s or master brewer’s. It’s why you know about Miracle on Ice in the 1980 Winter Olympics, but can’t name a singular athlete who competed in the Olympic Games that decade.

Most of us are struggling with something. Some of our members speak about how they’re in a negative head space or know someone working through health issues, but what you don’t know is that when you work with intensity here at F3, I’m watching you & it’s pushing me to be better. As a byproduct, my coworkers are getting a better version of myself, my wife admires me more, & I’m standing here to encourage you back. So keep showing up for your teams, because they’ll be there to lift you higher when it’s time.

So where are your winning teams? Good news. You’re already playing on a few. It’s your job to make each team better.

  • Show up to F3, because you push us when you do
  • Stick to the budget your family made, because paying for that long term savings goal in cash is way more satisfying than your guilty pleasure
  • Play to your strengths at work & help others shine doing the same
  • Cut the habit you’re working yourself up to do, because the post guilt you feel causes you to hide from your inner circle such as your family & God

God knew the hardships & the joys in life would require a team. That’s why he sent his disciples out in pairs, & sent Eve to Adam.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 – Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: if either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.
