THE THANG:
Part 1 – Mosey to the Pavilion
1 PAX jogs over to the pull-up bars and does AMRAP pull-ups while the rest of us do alternating reps of 20 seal clap squats, 20 dips, & 20 LBC’s.
We ended up doing 2 at a time as the bars were further away than YHC remembered.
Part 2 – Mosey to the fish (Ichthys pattern on the walkway between buildings)
Wall sit, 1 PAX do a lap, each lap another PAX join him till all PAX run a lap around.
After all PAX run a lap 1 PAX we did a 20-count rest and then I gave Mermaid a choice of 1 or 2… he chose 2 (which was Burpees, 1 was Big Boy Sit-ups) and then immediately volunteered to run (we ran 2 at a time the second time around).
After 4 laps we did another 20-count.
Part 3 – Mosey to the turf by the practice field for 11’s
1 rep of 1 exercise, jog to the Shamrock rock, then do 10 reps of the second, then jog back to the turf. Then do 2 reps of the first exercise, jog to the Shamrock rock, do 9 reps of the second exercise, and repeat until you get to 10 reps of the first exercise and 1 of the second exercise.
Turf- 4-count flutter kicks (start with 1 rep)
Rock – Merkins (start with 10 reps)
We finished with a wall sit waiting for the Six (aka YHC).
We were definitely warm so we had a fellowship mosey back and had a few minutes left for core.
MARY:
PAX-led that included V-ups, LBC’s , Pickle Pointers, and more (I cut Crawlspace off because it was 615 and of course forgot the exercise he led).
COT:
Have you thought about MLK since last year? Maybe some, maybe none. Growing up I thought he was a paragon of virtue but if you look into things he was far from perfect. But I believe his memory can inspire if we consider ourselves & don’t condemn things in others we ourselves don’t practice.
So I have a question for you:
How are you looking to inspire? Do you do anything that is worthy of imitation, much less inspiration?
Jesus tells a parable to demonstrate not to despise small beginnings and consider your ways whether they’re worthy of imitation and inspiration:
“As they heard these things, he proceeded to tell a parable, because he was near to Jerusalem, and because they supposed that the kingdom of God was to appear immediately. He said therefore, “A nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and then return. Calling ten of his servants, he gave them ten minas, and said to them, ‘Engage in business until I come.’ But his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We do not want this man to reign over us.’ When he returned, having received the kingdom, he ordered these servants to whom he had given the money to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by doing business. The first came before him, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made ten minas more.’ And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant! Because you have been faithful in a very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.’ And the second came, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made five minas.’ And he said to him, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’ Then another came, saying, ‘Lord, here is your mina, which I kept laid away in a handkerchief; for I was afraid of you, because you are a severe man. You take what you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.’ He said to him, ‘I will condemn you with your own words, you wicked servant! You knew that I was a severe man, taking what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow? Why then did you not put my money in the bank, and at my coming I might have collected it with interest?’ And he said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina from him, and give it to the one who has the ten minas.’ And they said to him, ‘Lord, he has ten minas!’ ‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. But as for these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slaughter them before me.’””
Luke 19:11-27 ESV
So today consider how you’re using your time, treasures, & talents… for the glory of God & not thinking of God as a harsh master. He can make all grace about to you and He will as you submit your talents to Him.
We prayed for travels for Mermaid’s oldest and peace in Minnesota.
