  • Mosey to the softball field to grab CMUs and carry them to station #1
  • Station #1: 40 Curls, 30 Tricep extension while doing calf raises, 20 Goblet swings, 10 Alternating merkins on CMU
  • Mosey to station #2
  • Station #2: 40 calf raises on curb, 30 tricep dips, 20 Rocky Balboas 4-count, 10 Derkins + a bonus of 30 merkins at the suggestion of CheatSheet
  • Mosey to station #3
  • Station #3: 40 Squats, 30 Merkins, 20 Big Boys, 10 Smurf Jacks + a bonus of flutter kicks for 30 seconds
  • Mosey to station #4
  • Station #4: 40 American hammers single ct, 30 shoulder taps single ct, 20 Twinkle Toes 4-ct, 10 Burpees
  • Mosey back to station #1.
  • Completed #1 again: 40 Curls, 30 Tricep extension while doing calf raises, 20 Goblet swings, 10 Alternating merkins on CMU
  • Walked the CMUs back to CMU pile but stopped for some bonus CMU work
  • 25 bench press, 20 flutter kicks, 30 bench press, 20 hello Dollys, 35 bench press, 20 scissor kicks, 40 bench press, return blocks, we have 1 CMU casualty so we paid the penalty of 5 burpees as a group.
  • Mosey back to AO with some Wounded Bear Crawls along the way. We ran a total of 1 mile.

Tefillah: Hebrew for Prayer

I’m doing a 7 day devotional with my community group about 7 Hebrew words that Christians should know. Too often we spend most of our prayer life asking for things. Praying for our health, success, healing for loved ones. All of which are great and commanded from God and Jesus to practice. We are supposed to ask Him in faith.

The Hebrew translation of Tefillah means to “self evaluate”. We should make it a point to open ourselves up to God through prayer. I am terrible at this. Even though I know that God knows everything about my heart I often times avoid being 100% honest with him about my state of mind and heart.

Separate into two groups of 9 and mosey to assigned parking lot for 4 corners (1 Exercise, 40-30-20-10). Once corners are complete, switch parking lots and do another 4 corners of different exercise.  We did Merkins/Squats, Hello Dollies/4ct Flutters, Mountain Climbers/SSH.

Stay in assigned parking lots, groups travel across lots as called by the Q.  We did 3 rounds of Bear Crawl down, Lunge Back.

12 stations – Marked 1-12. Do 1 rep then run to station 2 and do 2 reps and so on until you get to # 12. Each round completed = 78 reps. This course included 3 bear crawl segments per round for about 30’ each. We ran a total of 2.25 miles during the workout.

Round 3 – 4-count American Hammers 

Round 4 – Squats

Exodus 17

The Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim. Moses said to Joshua, “Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hands.”

10 So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill. 11 As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. 12 When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset. 13 So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword.

God chose Moses to be a faithful servant. 

Moses acted on that faith. 

I love the example of Aaron and Hur holding Moses’ arms up for probably at least 8 hours.

We broke the group of 20 into 5 smaller groups, and spread out to 5 stations that were marked around campus.

Station 1- The Shamrock Road
Perform 1 Burpee at every Shamrock that is painted on the ground (total 34)

Station 2 – Mosey to the circular wall with a statue
At the wall do 5 rounds of 20 dips followed by 20 Merkins

Station 3 – Mosey to the covered walkway at the Church
Perform 20 lunges followed by a 30 second wall squat
Perform 18 lunges followed by a 30 second wall squat
Perform 16 lunges followed by a 30 second wall squat
Perform 14 lunges followed by a 30 second wall squat
Perform 12 lunges followed by a 30 second wall squat
Mosey to Station 4 near Fox Lonas

Station 4 – “Detention Hill”
Perform 20 calf raises at the top of the hill, run to the bottom and do 20 squats, then ran back up the hill.
Repeat x 5

Station 5 – A/O Home of the Shovel Flag
20 BBS followed by 20 Merkins
20 LBC’s followed by 20 Merkins
20 Hello Dollies followed by 20 Merkins

Run to station 1 and repeat as time allows.  Every completed each station 1 time and at least began to repeat their “1st” station.

Included in station 5 of the workout.  Although Judge led us in seemingly endless pickle pounders until the last PAX returned to the A/O.

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
Abscess spoke about growth of F3, Asulym, Juco, and how it spawned into Shamrock through the leadership of Booster & Judge Judy.  Mermaid spoke briefly about the origin of Shamrock after the Shovel Flag was passed to him.  St. Patrick is a Saint recognized by the Catholic Church.  He was a missionary to Ireland, and as legend has it, he used the Shamrock and it’s three leaves to teach the Irish people about the trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit).  F3 also has three branches (Fitness, Fellowship, & Faith).  I like the symbolism of the Shamrock, and it is a reminder to us, as it is found all over the campus.

Mosey over to the coupon pile and grab one for a new exercise: The Noonan (Description per Exicon: Running up stadium stairs with a ruck on. Any form of weighted ruck or coupon up and downstairs. In Honor of F3 Naperville’s Steve Keough (F3 Noonan) who suddenly passed away while rucking.)

In honor of the passing of F3 Noonan just 2 days after he turned 50, we completed 50 collective trips up and down the stairs to the sports building with our RESPECT PAX leading the way. During this exercise I asked everyone to take a moment of silence to meditate on how blessed we are to have our health and to pray for those that don’t.

Mosey with your coupon over to the stadium. At the bottom of the hill perform the following starting with 10 reps of each and adding 10 reps after each round:

  • CMU Curls
  • CMU Tricep Extensions
  • CMU Swings

Run to the top of the Stadium Hill and perform 5 burpees to complete one round. Repeat adding reps until time was called.

My favorite verse for quite a long time has been:

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

Although this is my favorite verse, I used to apply it the wrong way. This verse does not guarantee that everything that happens to us in this life will benefit us in this life. It means that even when bad things happen to us in this world, if we maintain our faith and love in God, those things will benefit us in the life to come. The Bible does not teach that prosperity is something guaranteed to Christians, quite the opposite is true. We will be tried and persecuted in this life, but through those trials and tribulations we will grow closer to God. The things in this world are fleeting and ultimately meaningless if we don’t maintain our faith in God.

Shoutout to all of our PAX that have earned RESPECT. You don’t know how much us young bucks envy the fact that you are still out here pushing us to get better. You have something that we may never have, but that we all hope to have when we are 50+.

It’s been awesome seeing JUCO grow as much as it has this last year. We’ve added JUCO: Rush on Wednesdays at 0515 and are still testing out JUCO: Ruck on Mondays at 0500. Come get ya some!
