Sometimes, we go through valleys in our lives. The crap and bags of problems don’t go away. Leaders grab a hold of that bag, and do what they can to help. And great Leaders come along side others to help them pull. ESPY is one of those leaders, and I (Drifter) am super excited to pass the AOQ flags over to ESPY. He and His family have often come along side me and mine in the midst of our valleys. I know he will continue to lift up those around him, but he needs us to take a handle of the bag too.

Kind of a silly thing, but was listening to a workmate learn the hard lesson of not going to the dealership for tire issues and payed way more than needed for a new tire when a patch would have worked. Reminded me of the importance of learning from other people’s experiences, mistakes, and wisdom. Sometimes, it is super practical like the tire thing. But the ultimate example of this is Christ. We can trust His testimony having proved Himself via miracles and being vindicated through His resurrection which hundreds of people witnessed. If we are to learn from anyone’s experiences, it is His.

With the new year, it is a good opportunity to reorient on what is important and make a plan to invest time in those important things constantly. It took me like 3 or 4 times of listening to my boss deliver the same time/life management class before it really sunk in with me to invest small amounts of time regularly in the important things in my life. I encourage you to think about what is really important and prioritize time invested in those things.
MOLESKIN:
What are the top 3 most important things in your life?

How should we wisely spend out time

  • In light of my past experiences
  • In light of my current responsibilities
  • In light of my future hopes and dreams
  • There is a cumulative value to investing small amounts in certain activities over a long period of time
  • There are rarely any immediate consequences for neglecting single installments of time in any arena of life
  • Neglect has a cumulative effect
  • There is no cumulative value to the urgent things that we allow to interfere with the important things.

Excerpt from The Collision Learner blog by Dredd:

https://www.collisionlearner.com/post/the-force-that-divides

It need only make Paul and John jealous of one another and convince Ringo that it was not his place to intercede. It need only have me raise my voice to my daughter and convince me in the morning that the crack I had caused would heal itself. And, for our nation, it need only persuade some citizens to turn away from some others merely because the color of their skin is different. And then convince the rest of us that this is a problem that will take care of itself without Leadership.

It won’t. Whether family or nation, the Force that divides wins if the fathers ignore the cracks.

Don’t listen to that voice telling you to be Ringo. That’s the Force that divides. Listen to the other voice, the one telling you that a cord of three strands is not easily broken, that a house divided against itself cannot stand.

That’s the Father’s voice. Listen that voice. And act.”

F3 is about leadership. We must acknowledge our role in helping to unite our community. As we move into 2022, its clear we can no longer sit back and expect the crack to fix itself.

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
My inner nerd came out and I spoke briefly about the life of Abraham Lincoln. Honest Abe faced many difficult obstacles throughout his lifetime – grew up extremely poor, suffered from clinical depression, lost multiple children at young ages, lost a U.S. Senate bid to Stephen Douglas in 1858, and many more as president. However, for each specific situation, he fought through the adversity by leaning on his faith, humility, and vulnerability. Every individual in his close circle of trust was aware of his struggles and he was not afraid to communicate his hardships to those closest to him. This is a rare trait that people truly admired about him.

With the past two years being trying times for everyone in their own way, it is important for us to utilize the F3 platform to encourage, support, serve, etc. each other. I challenged everyone to be vulnerable in 2022 and to never be afraid to speak up if there’s anything your fellow PAX can do to help in any way.
