CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
Romans 8:18-30 makes clear:
The world is broken, humanity is broken. We should not be dumbfounded by suffering in this world.
We also need to be careful not to minimize the suffering of others. The encouragement we should give to others is that there is a day coming when their suffering will end! NOT that their suffering is illegitimate or self-inflicted.
Rather we must remember that this PRESENT and REAL suffering pales in comparison to the future glory we will experience with Christ.
But what about today? Here, now?
There are times when I don’t know what to pray. I don’t know what to say. In those moments, when I don’t know what to pray, when I’m heart broken and don’t understand. When I don’t know what to say to God, the SPIRIT himself intercedes for me.
God does not want to minimize our struggles. He’s reminding us that He draws near to us, that His Spirit is with us and comforts us at all times.

MOLESKIN:
My first time leading at Big Ball, what a place!

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
1 Corinthians 9:24-27
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

We are all out here this morning exercising physical discipline in training our bodies. I probably wouldn’t exactly call F3 strict training, but it does take a good amount of self-discipline to pull your socks on at 5am and get out in the cold. And, as anyone who’s been away from the gloom for a while can tell you, the “crown” we gain out here of a modicum of physical fitness certainly doesn’t last.

So I want to encourage you throughout the day to exercise in your spiritual life that same level and more of self-discipline and the intentionality of action, looking forward to the prize that your Lord has for you.

MOLESKIN:
It was great sharing the gloom with you HIMs this morning! Sorry to Peach Fuzz for getting the “same Q second verse” treatment, having experienced the balance at JUCO on Monday…

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
Just keep moving.  We have applied this to our workouts the last several weeks due to the cold weather.  If we don’t, our bodies shut down, hypothermia begins, and left unchecked we die.  We can apply this to our personal and spiritual lives as well.  If we are not moving forward we are stagnant at best and more likely than not regressing.  What areas of your life have become stagnant?  What have you neglected or given up on?  What can you change or do to take action in these areas of your life?

Hebrew 12:1 Therefore since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfector of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
