THA-THANG:

Mosey to lower turf MRSA field and watch Wagon Wheel & Swirlie dominate the Week 1 Iron PAX Challenge. Just before we do a twisted version ourselves.

  • Set 1 (Start at the baseline)
    • Hand Release Burpees OYO x 10
    • Sprint to Midfield recovery mosey the remainder of the field
    • R&R x 3
  • Set 2 (Start at the baseline – 2 Burpees w/ every change in direction)
    • Bearcrawl to Goal Box
    • Backpeddle to Baseline
    • Run the entire length of the field
    • R&R to Goal Box and return back to start
    • Bearcrawl to Midfield
    • Backpeddle to Baseline
    • Run entire length of the field
    • R&R to midfield and return back to start
  • Set 3 Descending Reps (start at the corner of the field)
    • Burpees x 10
    • Merkins x 10
    • Walking Lunges x 10 (R&L left leg is one rep)
    • Run a lap around the field
    • R&R exercises descending by 1 rep (9 Burpees, 9 Merkins, 9 Walking Lunges etc.)
    • We got down to 3 and finished remaining reps as a PAX before returning to AO

  • Bart – Gas Pumpers
  • Swirlie – Flutter Kicks
  • Cosmo – Peter Parker Merkins

When we first come out, it’s about survival. Then we get to the point that we can go for a whole workout. It’s important that we don’t stop there and that we continue to push ourselves to improve.

MOLESKIN:
FNG Rosetta showed up after receiving a Flying EH from “the Snowman” Frosty. Some mumble chatter about how eerily similar this was to the Killer B’s. However, if you want to be the Iron PAX, you have to train like the Iron PAX!

Mosey up to the near field.
4x suicide of 40ft, 40 cubits, 40yd, and 40m. 10x squat jumps between each suicide.
Mosey down the hill to beside the baseball field
40x 4-ct LBCs IC
Trot onto the field, run 40 bases, do 40 8-count body builders. Any order.
(Most everyone did 4 body builders after each lap)
Mosey to the Watt Rd field
Bear crawl 40yd, 5x 4-ct Asphalt Kissers
Crab walk 40yd, 5x 4-ct Asphalt Kissers
Crawl bear 40yd, 5x 4-ct Asphalt Kissers
Walk crab 40yd, 5x 4-ct Asphalt Kissers

Mosey back to the concrete bleachers
Pick up flying EH along the way!

40’s on the hill beside the bleachers… Start with 5 BBS at the bottom, 35 Merkins at the top. Then 10/30, etc.

Ran outta time about halfway through… Wanted to make sure to get in some Mary:

Today is my 40th birthday, and there’s no way I’d want to start it other than out getting better with some like-minded HIMs. Looking at the number 40, though, it’s a number that represents testing, trial, or refinement. Jesus spent 40 days and nights in the desert. The Israelites wandered for 40 years in the desert. The flood was 40 days and nights of rain. Most of us are somewhere in the neighborhood of that 40 year mark… If today were the end of your 40 years in the wilderness, would you be found ready to enter the Promised Land?
MOLESKIN:
Great to have Lillydipper and Pele clown car their way over here. And it’s always fun when a flying EH actually lands. Makes for some great mumblechatter between the huffing and puffing!

WARM-O-RAMA:

90#  bag, 60# bag, 60# bag, 2 50# pipes

Ruck coupons to MRSA field and find a battle buddy

THA-THANG:
1 battle buddy goes across the field doing one of the following;

60# sandbag toss

60# sandbag lunges

Ruck bear crawls

90# sandbag drag (with rope)

Other battle buddy completes the following exercises and relieves his buddy and continues the movement across the field.

  • 20 ruck merkins
  • 20 alternating shoulder press
  • 20 squats
  • 20 curls

Once complete with a movement,  switch to another movement until all pax have done all 4 movements across the field.

 

Ruck all coupons to watt rd field

Pax line up along baseline.   The 90# bag and rope are on the field.   1 pax runs to end of the rope, sits down and pulls bag to them, then runs back.  Next guy goes and repeats.  After a while, wall ball added the 60# bag to the 90# bag for the seated rows.

Remaining pax at baseline complete exercises as called out by different guys.  Some I remember:

Squats

BBS with ruck on chest

Ruck shoulder press

Flutter kicks with ruck pressed

There were others.
