WARM-O-RAMA:

  • SSH x25 IC
  • Tempo Squats x15 IC
  • Tempo Merkins x15 IC
  • Hot foot x 15 per foot 4 count reps IC
  • Baby Arm Circles Fwd x10 IC
  • Baby Arm Circles Bwd x10 IC

THA-THANG:

Mosey to hill. Stop along the way for the following:

  • 20x air squats (single count IC)
  • 20x in-place lunges (10x each leg IC)
  • 10x squat jumps (single count IC)
  • 10x jumping lunges (5x each leg IC)

Pyramid

Run to cone and do exercise. Run back down hill and do other exercise. Do both exercises with the following reps: x5, x10, x15, x10, x5.  We will do 2 rounds.

I find when I push myself out here I smile more I feel more energetic throughout the day and I perform better in daily life just taking the groceries in or digging a hole in the back yard. Push through the temporary discomfort to grow and see what you are really capable of.

Mosey to the hill between tennis courts and baseball field for 7’s (audibled from 11’s): Burpees and Squat-tuck-jumps.  Bernie up the hill, bear crawl down.

Mosey down the road around the outside of the ball field and back up to the Scrapyard for 1:5 ratio pull-ups to dips. Start with 1 pull-up, 5 dips all the way to 5 pull-ups, 25 dips.

Partner leg pushdowns x25 (each partner)

Crab walk all the way across the Grinder from the Scrapyard to the Pavalon, half-way forward, half-way backward.

Of course, today is Thanksgiving Day.  You’re going to hear a lot about being thankful for all of the blessings and good things in your life.  But just like the beatdown often sucks, hard times and difficulties come in life. It’s often hard to recognize as you’re in the middle of it, but Romans says that God works all things together for the good of those that love Him.  The first thing James says after his greeting is that we should count it joy when we encounter trials and hard times because it develops our faith.  So I encourage you as you think of the good things and give thanks, take time to look back at the tough things.  Look at how God has strengthened and grown you through those and give thanks for the tough things in your life.
MOLESKIN:
Today’s beatdown was like roasting a turkey without putting foil on the drumsticks…. Legs were done and burnt way too early!

We talked about time management and evaluating where we spend this precious resource making sure we are spending it on worthwhile things and not letting the digital drain suck it away.

Moleskin by scribe (Waxjob): On a weekend where every AO was light due to strong F3 Knox representation at GoRuck, this was the first beatdown in which all the PAX were introduced to F3 right here at the Bomb Shelter.  Barely over a month since launch, and these HIMs are stepping up strong!

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:

The new testament specifically says love one another 15 separate times. John 13:34 says “so now I am giving you a new commandment, love each other just as I have loved you…This will show the world that you are my disciples.”

Billy Graham :”Yes, the Bible certainly tells us to love others, even if they aren’t very lovable! But what does it mean to love others? All too often, I’m afraid, we confuse liking someone with loving them”…. “And this isn’t necessarily wrong, as far as it goes; a husband (for example) should genuinely like his wife and enjoy being in her company.”

But….”Does this mean we can’t love someone who’s difficult to like? No, it doesn’t, not if we understand the kind of love God has for us. God loves us not because we’re perfect, or even likeable, because we aren’t. We fall far short of what He wants us to be, yet the Bible says He still loves us. And unlike our love for others, His love means He always wants what’s best for us, although we don’t deserve it.

This is the way God wants us to love others — by seeking what’s best for them. No, (some people) may not be likeable, but have you ever asked God to change (them)? Have you ever gone out of your way to show love for (them), even if (they) don’t deserve it? Open your heart and life to Christ’s transforming love. Then remember: “We love because he first loved us” (1 John 4:19).

MOLESKIN:
PAX was a little quiet this morning but then again it’s my first time on Q st the Bomb Shelter. I enjoyed getting to meet the guys better there and they have an excellent group of men. A great AO too!
