Mermaid was spotted in the gloom, celebrating what he calls the BSIA(best sunrise in America) with his daughters. Happy Birthday to her! :birthday:
Everyone was prepared and read the material or listened to the podcast or both.
We opened with prayer and then dove into Q2 The Dedication to Purposefulness.
Socratics:
1. Are we alive for a reason outside of our own existence?
2. What happens to a man who lives primarily for himself?
3. Is there an intrinsic benefit in living for others?
1. Can a man self-initiate positive change in his life?
2. Can a broken man be helped?
3. Can an unbroken man be convinced to risk abandoning his Status Quo?
Discussion points:
-We are created by God to worship Him and love others.
-Living for yourself is idolatry
-This creates shame, selfishness and hate
-Me attitude makes you lonely in a false reality
-We discussed reality at length, how we create our reality by our experiences and influences. This can be very different for people.
-Serving others takes your outside yourself
-Living for others creates selflessness, gratitude and love.
-Self vs Others, Isolation vs Community
-Sur/Ser continuum, Survivor/Servant
-Others are your purpose, the call to action is to move into proximity so that you can have an impact.
Finished up with this question and prayer:
How do you handle feeling lead to disciple(lead out of sad clown) someone when they don’t show motivation or desire to change?
