CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
My 11 year-old son is out of town on a trip and called last night with a headache.  He was letting it get to him and making a mountain out of a mole hill…he was losing perspective on the situation and getting overwhelmed.  Funny thing is, we do this as men all the time.  It’s usually not a headache – usually it’s financial stress, work stress, family pressure, health needs.  We let these things grow in our minds until we think they are too big to handle.  God reminds us in the book of Deuteronomy that he is always with us.

“Be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you”   Deuteronomy 31:6

This verse is taken from the time of Moses, when he was getting ready to hand the reigns over to Joshua.  Moses was reassuring both Joshua and the Israelites that God would take care of them in battle against their enemies.  We still have that same promise today.  Whatever your circumstance, large or small, God’s answer is still “I will not leave you nor forsake you”.  Don’t make mountains out of mole hills – give them over to the Lord in prayer and watch him do the work on your behalf.

Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers.

We are not always in the position of leadership and it is easy to criticize those that are over us. We do it a lot with politicians, bosses, church leaders. Do not fall into the trap of being a scoffer. A scoffer cannot find happiness in anything. Remember who you are and that you serve the Creator of all things. Encourage those around you at work and at home.

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
Too many times do we ask God to solve our problems for us rather than asking for the strength to battle it on our own. Sometimes the trials we are put through are to make us better men and leaders for our community, and it is our duty to make our way through what is put in front of us. God will always lend us his strength.

Isaiah 41:10

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your
God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with
my righteous right hand.

In the book, We Were Soldiers Once and Young, grace was extended to the enemy NVA killed by US forces.   They too extended hope that there bones were recovered from the battlefield and taken home to an honorable burial.  Only grace can have this kind of affect on people who gunned down your brethren.
