Bo Shafer owns Shafer Insurance in Knoxville.  He’s a local philanthropist and been involved with dozens of charities over the last 60+ years.  He not only supports them with his treasures but his time and talents.

Bo is known for passing out round coins that says TUIT on one side and “the only people who don’t have time are DEAD” on the other.  It’s a ROUND TUIT.  His goal is to encourage people to not sit around and wait to do something when they retire because they may not live that long.

The most common regrets shared by people nearing death were:

  1. They wish they had been more loving to the people who matter the most.
  2. They wish they had been a better spouse, parent, or child.
  3. They wish they had not spent so much time working.
  4. They wish they had taken more risks.
  5. They wish they had been happier and enjoyed life more.
  6. They wish they had lived their dream.
  7. They wish they had taken better care of themselves.
  8. They wish they had done more for others.
  9. They wish they had chosen more meaningful work.

We have no excuse.  We have choices just like the workout today…we CHOSE to be here and then we could choose parts of our workouts.  If there’s something you feel led to do, DO IT TODAY! If you’re not being the person you should be, BE IT TODAY! We have the choice!!!

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
God Is Our Parent

Romans 8: 38-39 says, “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

1 John 4:16: “So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.”

In the Bible we are told to call God “our father.”  We are also taught that there is no greater love than that of God for us.  We are His children.  When I take time to dwell upon that, it gives me great comfort.  Because those of us who are fathers know how incredible our love is for our children.

I found that out after my oldest child, Faith, was born.  I remember going to work the few weeks after she was born and sometimes hearing babies cry in the clinic I worked at.  I had heard similar cries before Faith was born.  But those same types of cries now stirred up something in me, as if I was hearing her cry and needed to comfort her by instinct.

As parents we ache for our children.  My son, Bennett, played on the freshman basketball team at West High School.  He was a good player but found himself sitting on the bench in most games.  I remember the tears on the rides home from the games, his frustration and anger at not being able to play for even a few minutes in a game.  I ached for him, I hurt for him, I felt tears myself on those long rides home.  I remember Faith going through a time of depression in high school, worrying about her, hoping that each day she would just be ok.  She was such a hard working and efficient student yet would get so down on herself.

And I recall such happy times as well, moments when I felt so overjoyed and proud of my children.  I remember Faith having the primary role in a musical at Bearden Middle School and the ovation she got from the audience.  I took a walk that night by myself, dreams of Faith performing on Broadway in my head.  I remember Bennett winning the Geography Bee at Bearden Elementary School.  My son Bennett, shockingly winning over these other smart kids who seemed to always get the accolades.  I recall Jan and I going to Starbuck later that morning, just to share a cup of coffee and giggle with pride.

Those little moments as parents when we ache, when we hurt, when we laugh, when we bask in the happiness of the actions of our children may seem so small to someone else.  But it is so huge for us as parents.  If Jan and I can have that kind of love for our children, how great must God’s love be for us.  Think of God watching your own hurts, your own victories.  Think of Him hurting for you.  Think of him shouting for joy with your own victories.  Is that really possible?  If God is all powerful, if God is our creator, if God is Love, then the answer is yes.  Think of that when you go through the rest of your day.  Think of that when you go to sleep to night.  God, your loving father, is with you.

MOLESKIN:
Prayers for Mr. Jinxy and his wife as they come to an important real estate decision regarding his wife’s business operation.

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
With recent activities in our country, it is easy to get lost in the world activities and while we as disciples of Christ have differing opinions, we are called to be salt and light to the world.  Yeshua showed us what it meant to love those who did not call him Messiah and what it meant to give tough love to those who called themselves disciples of YHWH.  Yeshua is our model.  While we may not always agree with people on their stance and thoughts, we can still love them even if the world says that there is no love without believing exactly as they do.  We all know that this is not true.  I can love while disagreeing with you.  Remember to hold fast in your convictions as YHWH and Yeshua lead you but also remember that YHWH tells us to let him do the changing of the heart; we are simply to plant the seeds.

Todays beatdown was an homage to a Bombshelter legend Hammy. In honor of his Triple Respect birthday yesterday Q dug into the archives and put together some Hammy classics. Q also included a little         Hammy-isum before each Thang-Thang. Those that have experienced a Hammy Q know it’s not just the beatdown where your mind and body are challenged. A Hammy BOM is sometimes more impactful than the beatdown, and that’s saying a lot. Hammy had to relinquish todays Q due to an injury so Q felt it only seemed fitting to give us a Hammy Q.

F3 is so unique and special. You can’t find an organization where men can surround themselves with men from all walks of life from 18-70. It gives us the chance to grow as men in so many ways. I’m so thankful for F3.
MOLESKIN:
Hammy you’re an inspiration to this pax and I’m honored to gridded away aside you. Q realized that Hammy would probably be asking why I would do this beatdown because it’s not like he is dead.
