Psalm 30:4

This morning I was going to talk on listening – but as it turns out, I still need to work on that. I plan to use my family trip to MA to figure out how to listen. Please hold me to that.

Today, Make a Joyful noise!
There are over 50 commands in the bible telling us to Sing to the Lord.

So what’s your soundtrack? What are you listening to? Are you joining in? It’s an awesome way to follow God’s command.
I’m not a “only worship music” guy, but some of the music you listen to should bring you to a place of worship.
I’m a firm beliver that music is a gift from God.
It lowers your blood pressure, lessens anxitey, improves sleep
Music is also a gift FOR God. Used properly, it awakens a part of us designed to commune with God.
I’d love for all of you sharing what you are listening to that does that. I hope it’s not just contemporary christian music you may hear on the radio, but many genres and instrumentals and deep lyrics.
Jesus died for you. Sing about it!

Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting.
Psalm 147:1

Just Like the Prodigal Son, I’ve Returned

This is my 4 year anniversary of joining F3. We talked about the importance of using a back blast. I was able to recall from my first post 4 years ago the attendees, the workout and the message. Now that we have a new and improved back blast system, I would encourage everyone to record this data because it is important.

Metric Workout #1
(Every man will need 1 CMU)

Set a timer for 30 minutes.
Complete as many cumulative reps as you can in that time.

The following list of exercises are performed in sets of 25 reps. After completing a set of 25 reps, put down your CMU, run 25 yards, do 2 burpees, return to your CMU, and continue.

Here are the exercises:

– 150 curls
– 125 heavy squats
– 100 OHP
– 75 CMU swings
– 50 Thrusters
– 25 Blockees
When you finish the Blockees, start back at the top with curls.

It will look like this:

25 curls → 25 yard run → 2 burpees → 25 yard run → 25 curls…repeat until 150 curls are finished, then switch to squats…etc.

Once through the entire circuit is 525 reps (burpees do not count toward total).

How many cumulative reps can you complete?

MARY:
Flutter kicks and snow angels while the 6 caught up to the group during the Nosey back to the flag.

COT:
Last Thursday I hosted the young professional group from church. There were approximately 28 of them in my home. I loved seeing the good time they were having and the depth of relationships between them because this is the group that my wife and I started 12 years ago and that we stepped out of 5 years ago. The group has had its share of struggles with participation since we left but it has great momentum now and will be a spiritual blessing to each of them as they age as well as to the church. I see it as a spiritual legacy for me.

3 John 1:4 ESV
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.

What is your legacy? What will you leave behind if anything? Will it be with family, work, history and or the church?

Phil 4:10-13
I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity. Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me

MOLESKIN:
The challenge today was to seek contentment amid the daily grind

MARY:

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
Hebrews 12:1
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us

I want to focus on the word endurance. On a Wed, we have runners who know about endurance. I used to think of Endurance as just working hard and harder. But it is a lot more about pace than it is any one hard step.
Ask yourself, are you making forward progress?
Do you have a plan? Do you know where you are going?
Have you removed the sin in your life that weighs you down?

Your race is your race. Your journey to become more like Jesus is not identical to anyone else, but it is not meant to be done alone.
Get into a community of believers, find a Church home, F3 is great, but it is not a church.
A church needs all ages, men and women, worship, communion, baptism, giving, accountability and all the pains and joys that come along with all that.
Then make sure Jesus is your motivation, source of energy and Goal.
And consider your pace. Yes, take breaks but ensure forward progress. Guys who get up before 5 to work out tend to want to push hard, but don’t burn out.
And God gave us the gift of (warning, unpopular word) the Sabbath. It got abused in Jesus’ time, it gets forgotten entirely now, but Sabbath was made for man.
That weekly day of rest, change of pace and focus on worship and serving will allow you to Run the race.
Maybe you step back from formal serving for a season, but you still run the race – stay involved, make others a priority, show up, care , pray
Endure to the end.
