In my church, we are in a season of praying for revival, in ourselves, in our homes, in our church, and in the world.
The beginning of things has a special energy that helps them grow, a certain youthfulness. But nothing stays new forever, and eventually we will find ourselves in need of a revival, that is, an intentional remembering if why we started in the first place. One of the tasks of leadership is to be constantly engaged in reminding your team of the mission, the purpose, the values. Since these are what unites the team, if they fade from memory then the team will begin to drift apart.
So I encourage you to examine in your own life where you need a spirit of revival. I’m your marriage, in your family, at your work, or on your rec league basketball team. By remembering our purpose, we secure firmly in place that which gives life to the whole endeavor.
