THE THANG:
Discussed Team Development in real life. Below are some interesting questions brought up by the PAX that can reflect on both the leadership and members of a team.

– John Pryne lyrics – “How can you work all day, come home and have nothing to say?” Like men sitting in a bible study group week after week and never saying anything.
– If guys don’t have something to say, what are they studying? Who are they interacting with? What’s on their mind?

How do you know if you are on mission as a team? Failure is easy to see, but what does success look like? This brought up the recurring issues of
– Being Aware
– Evaluating
– Adjusting

Maybe one of the most important things in Team Development is removing the wrong people, soon enough. We discussed times we had chronic problems with team members and how the delegation (or lack of delegation) of responsibility to us helped, hindered, or blocked resolution.

Some men seem to see F3 as a club, not as a team- what’s the difference? Others seem to see it as a team and make adjustments to the Qs to fit the team needs and capabilities.

How you communicate and how it is received are both critical to staying on mission.

We discussed the 80/1 Rule that was described in this chapter. The 1% cannot be delegated.

We discussed how we had dealt with situations where we were put in charge, but not allowed to set the standards or given the authority to make corrections with chronic problem team members.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
– Forg3 Leadership registration is open – Jan 24-26. Limited to 20 PAX due to the facility. Registrations are filling up.
– EFHR is coming up in the Spring, possibly in March.
– 3324 Leadership Summit and CSAUP is new and coming up, possibly in April. This will be a continuation of the leadership development that is growing in our local regions.

Faithfulness in Small Things

Verse:

In our lives, both physically and spiritually, it’s often the small, everyday actions that build character and lay the foundation for bigger victories. Whether it’s showing up for workouts, making the right choices in relationships, or committing to daily prayer, consistency in the little things makes a man truly strong. It’s through these daily disciplines that we prepare ourselves for greater responsibilities and challenges.

Jefferson’s words remind us that what seems like “luck” or sudden success is often the result of consistent, unseen faithfulness. The small steps we take every day prepare us for when bigger moments of leadership and opportunity arise. Let’s strive to be faithful in the small things, knowing that it is through these that we grow into the leaders we are called to be.

We had a fire, we had hot coffee, and we had four men willing to talk about hard things. Today it was centered around Sua Ponte Leadership, those are big words that we broke down into how we need a mission to be effective leaders. The team needs to know the mission so that they can be prepared. It was a tremendous morning, and I value this time together.

Joy vs Happiness?
Which of these makes you more durable, softer? Is it true that the more happiness you get, the more you need, like a drug addiction?

Key Redirect: Is being discontent a bad thing? What are you discontent about? Are you discontent because you are complaining or because of a red flag?

Discontent can indicate that something is off mission. Provide specific examples of discontent to discuss – we ended up discussing IPC, because it is current and seems to cause some PAX in F3 Knoxville to not post. So, we considered, “Is it on mission for F3 and for F3 Knoxville?”
1. “Does it grow small workout groups for men?” – If not on mission, is it causing some PAX to not post? This will interrupt their consistency every September.
2. “Is not posting during IPC, an individual PAX problem or an IPC mission problem?”
3. “Do we need to disrupt the status quo of IPC to make it better serve F3 Knoxville?” – Maybe. Most important is to support each AOQ in what they do, Then consider alternatives that allow a longer time frame to complete each workout, maybe Saturday or nomad workouts in September.
4. “Do the workouts seem to be just bigger and badder or are they valuable as planned or does it matter?” Interesting discussion, no conclusions.

MARY: Because the depth of our discussions cannot be duplicated in a backblast:
1. Each work to build a VL mtg in proximity to our AO.
2. Think about framework for a Leadership Convergence. We have a great core of respondents from the Leadership Survey.
3. Seek more contributors for the 3rdF channel. Kudos to ExciteBike (Micah Stair) for posting recently.
4. Continue IPC discussion for F3 Knoxville to clarify why there is discontent and how to resolve the discontent if it is valid.
