CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
Couple of days ago, I stumbled upon a viral video performance of Jane Marczweski, professionally known as “Nightbirde” from America’s Got Talent (video link here: https://youtu.be/bTJ3eeYrHI4). During the audition, however, Nightbirde shared some tough personal news — she had “some cancer” in her lungs, spine and liver. Nightbirde also later revealed that she was given a 2% chance of survival.

While singing her original song, “It’s Okay”, Nightbirde’s authenticity and ethereal vocals took center stage. The song is about getting lost, losing, or being down and it’s okay. Focusing on small wins in our daily lives makes us successful. Things may not turn out the way we want it to be, and it’s probably because God has better plans for us.

She ended her performance with a quote: “you can’t wait until life isn’t hard anymore before you decide to be happy”. So gents, I hope you keep focusing on those small wins in your daily lives, keep your chin up and know that the man above has better plans for us when you’re feeling down and lost sometimes. Waking up and being there in an F3 beatdown,  smashing thru the workout is already a win for each and everyone of us and it means a lot just you being out there for your brothers.

“If you’re lost, we’re all a little lost and it’s alright. It’s okay.” – Nightbirde

COUNT-OFF & NAME-O-RAMA
A Dirty Dozen – One PAX downrange from Denver…North Carolina – Welcome Mater!
CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
Picked up the Q Source for some inspiration. The last section in the QS is all about growing an effective Lizard Organization. A couple of key notes are: Effective Organizations are built through Relationships – Not Rules. A Man who is Freed to Lead only needs Purpose to drive him forward. Too many rules are like shackles. Q Source gave the example of how Jesus was the original model of a Lizard Organization. In Matthew you can read about Jesus’ 2 Commandments that he gave. (Paraphrasing) Love the Lord God with all of your Heart, your Soul & Mind. 2nd – Love your neighbor as yourself. Matt 22:34-40

Driving to Coffeeteria I realized that I missed the opportunity to talk about reflection in our organization. AKA our family unit. Are we building our family unit through relationship or through rules? Is our family purpose so big and clear that our M’s & 2.0’s are “Freed to Lead”? Or do we just have rules? The next circle would be our job or place of employment. Although we may not be able to affect change from the top down in our work organizations, we can vow to maximize relationships where we’re at. We can create and grow healthy relationships with our co-workers and team.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

MOLESKIN:
We had a solid showing of PAX this morning. Including our Unicorns Doubtfire & Tank. The PAX were completely ready to be Merkining ourselves silly, while having buckets of rain poured on us. However, it was beautiful, sunny and amazing morning to be outside with some sweaty dudes.

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:

Awhile ago, I heard the story of college basketball player, the starting center, who made a vow when he was young to never play basketball on Sundays.  His team made it to the Final Four, and then the championship game, which, unfortunately, was to be played on Sunday.  He explained his predicament to his coach and teammates, and they tried to convince him that just this one time, couldn’t he break his commitment and play?  Here it was, the biggest game of his life… why couldn’t he just make an exception?

In the end, he sat out the game.  As he explained it later, the nature of the promise wasn’t as important as the keeping of the commitment.  He said in the end it was an easy decision.  It’s much easier to hold on to your convictions 100 percent of the time than it is 98% of the time, because then you have to make decisions constantly instead of simply sticking to your guns.

It comes down to a choice about marginal benefits in measuring the value of your life.  Is it ok to do something wrong or unethical just this ONE TIME, for a benefit? Or is your life filled with greater meaning to forego that temporary benefit so that you can assure yourself you have fulfilled your promise to try not to sin, even though we understand and accept that we are all, in the end, sinners.

MOLESKIN:

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:

With the gift of knowledge, we understand the meaning of God. The gift of knowledge is more than an accumulation of facts. Knowledge is often confused with both wisdom and understanding. Like wisdom, knowledge is the perfection of faith, but whereas wisdom gives us the desire to judge all things according to the truths of the Faith, knowledge is the actual ability to do so. Like counsel, it is aimed at our actions in this life. In a limited way, knowledge allows us to see the circumstances of our life the way that God sees them. Through this gift of the Holy Spirit, we can determine God’s purpose for our lives and live them accordingly.

Like wisdom, knowledge perfects the virtue of faith. The aims of knowledge and wisdom are different, however. Whereas wisdom helps us to penetrate divine truth and prepares us to judge all things according to that truth, knowledge gives us that ability to judge. The object of this gift is the whole spectrum of created things insofar as they lead one to God.”
