CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
Matthew 6:7-8 — “And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.”

Encouraged the PAX in the freedom there is in not feeling like you have to be some professional when you pray.  God knows what you need.  He loves for you to go to Him in prayer.  Prayers can be brief, simple, unimpressive.  There’s freedom in knowing we can pray short prayers to God all throughout the day.

2 stations, at one station we did upper body work, then ran to the 2nd station to focus on the lower body.  We ran about .2 miles in between the tennis courts and the pavilion at the top of the hill.  We did one exercise, ran to the next station, and alternated until we ran out of time.  At the top we did 4 sets of 20, these were the exercises.  Merkins, Picnic table pull ups, and dips.  On the tennis courts we did 4 sets of 20 squats, calf raises, and then El Capitan’s across the width of the tennis courts.  We had the lights on at the tennis courts, and it made me realize how ugly the men of F3 really are.  No wonder we workout in the Gloom!  That is a joke, we are all amazing looking specimen.

MARY:
We began with a 10 count of Carolina Dry Docks, then the PAX got mouthy and it was recommended that we also do 4 sets of 20 of that exercise.  After our arms fell off at the shoulders, we did 20 flutter kicks in cadence, and 20 BBS as we ran out of time.

COUNT-OFF & NAME-O-RAMA

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
Talked about suffering.  I’ve had several people I’ve been walking with who are going thru some serious suffering.  Seems like we all know people in our life who are in the midst of it.  You just have to live long enough and you will suffer.

I’ve been reading thru Job.  Reminded the guys about Satan coming to God, God pointing out Job, and Satan’s accusation that Job is ONLY worshipping God because of how much God has blessed him.  So, God allows Satan to take away those blessings and Job enters probably the most extreme suffering known on earth.  Job’s faith was being tested to see if it was genuine.  Was he worshipping God for the gifts God had given him or because God was God?

Job said — “The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”

The test of suffering is coming to each one of us, and we probably have friends walking thru it right now.  Let’s come alongside them, pray and encourage them, and bless the name of the Lord.

COUNT-OFF & NAME-O-RAMA
9 Strong, no FNGs

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:

(From Luke 2) So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.

One of things that I love about the Christmas story and the life of Jesus is the circumstances under which he was brought into this world, and how he left it.  He came into it in the most humble conditions, and placed in a manger.

Definition of a MANGER: a long open box or trough for horses or cattle to eat from. The son of God came into this world basically in a soup bowl for livestock, and left this world on a cross, after being betrayed, humiliated and tortured.

This was not some gilded king, born in wealth and comfort, and who died gloriously.  This was a child born to a poor family who was sent by God to live among us and who died for our sins.

John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

If we had the CEO for Crossfit or some other exercise program show up out of the blue in a limo, dressed in a fur coat, with leather gloves and wing-tipped shoes tell us to do 100 burpees, crawl in the mud, and run up and down a huge hill a few times, we’d probably tell him to stick it where the sun don’t shine.  But when it’s an idiot like me, who is out here doing it with you, with snot running down my face and bloody shins and freezing cold hands, you nod, get your mind right, and get it done.  I love that Jesus was one of US, not one of THEM.  I love that the life he lead and the teachings he passed on came from a place of humanity and poverty, not power and wealth.  I think of the billionaire politicians that are supposed to be our leaders and it’s hard sometimes to relate to them and to accept what they say and how they want us to act.  But I will follow Jesus as my Q any day of the week.

MOLESKIN:
Prayers for several members of the PAX who are suffering this holiday season due to the death of loved ones or illness. We pray for comfort and recovery.
