WORD:
Never Give Up!

We started off gettin’ the PAX movin’ right off the bat!  Good mumblechatter and an OTB trip to Starbucks brought the PAX closer together after the workout.  Good to see you guys and grab a little Second’F and a great start to Thanksgiving Day!

BOM

In the BOM I talked about Lt. Brian Murphy and how he never gave up, and how he never left anyone behind. At a conference I met Murphy and he added the guys on his shift had an agreement that what they  “Start together finish together.”
Who do you not want to leave behind? What makes you fight and make sure to never give up? Who else chose never to give up? The true constant is Jesus. He never gives up on us. He pursues us to be saved through him. When we live our life for Jesus we have eternal life. Jesus is our savior, and we can only be saved through him. He leads us and he encourages us to be leaders of others. He fights for us, and he doesn’t want to leave behind. He gives us strength, strength to never give up. He pursues us so that we can finish together and begin a new life in heaven. We are encouraged through each other, we fight for each other.

And he gave us F3. He gave us a group of brothers from another mother, and we come out each morning and push each other, we also never leave anyone behind. We always pick up the Six. And I am thankful for that, thankful for you guys, in so many ways that I just can’t say it.

I can think of no better verse to describe this than:

Prov 18-24

“One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother”

I’ve recently been listening to The Minimalists’ podcast. I’m guilty of cluttering my life with things. Consumerism isn’t the problem. We must consume. Food. Clothes. Gasoline. Air. Impulsive consumption is the problem. Buying things we don’t need with money we shouldn’t spend. Someone important said something like that, I think.

Last night I watched The Minimalist’s documentary with some friends. We watched it on our big TV. With surround sound. I downloaded it on my laptop. Tried mirroring it from our iPad. When that didn’t work, we streamed it from our AppleTV. At one point I had 5 devices within arms reach, trying to get a documentary about simplicity to work. The irony was thick. And healing. Like a Heimlich to my conscience.

Goal for the Week: Eliminate ONE THING from your life that doesn’t add value to your life.

For example, you might walk around the rooms in your house. Look at the items you have stacked in the corners. The sofa no one ever sits on. The chair whose only purpose is to hold pillows. Look in your closet. Consider the items of clothing that you don’t wear because A. they don’t fit, or B. you don’t like them. Consider any habits or routines in your life that are a drain on your time or energy. Do you really need to check emails at 11:30pm? Are you honestly that important to the world? Probably not.

“Love people, use things. The opposite never works.” http://www.theminimalists.com/people-things/

MOLESKIN
Inspired! That’s how YHC feels leaving #TheAsylum every morning.  Just over a month ago most of these men didn’t know each other, and to now see and hear them pushing and encouraging each other to get better…what other word can I use but inspired.

The PAX in Knoxville came out this morning and a crushed a non-stop 45 minute workout and a few even stayed after for an OTB 2 mile run. Each man gives his all for the man to his left and to his right, and that’s what it’s all about. Knoxville will never be the same!
