TacoTuesday

THE SCENE: Sweater weather
F3 WELCOME & DISCLAIMER
WARM-O-RAMA:

  • SSH IC x 20
  • Cherry Pickers IC x 5

THA-THANG:
I lost a bet to Mayberry and the wager was a $5 box from Taco Bell. So I thought it would be fun to work off those calories as a PAX. After extensive research on how many calories we really burn during exercise – it’s not that many. So we had to partner up to burn those total calories. A $5 box includes two Tacos and a Cheddar Cheese Chalupa.

  • 1st Taco – 170 calories
  • Dora 1, 2, 3 across the short side of the hockey rink
  • Toasted Cheddar Chalupa – 450 calories
  • 20 Burpees – run a lap around the track
  • Rinse and Repeat x3
  • 2nd Taco – Tabata Taco
  • 20 second Air Squat
  • 10 second rest
  • 45 second CMU Swing
  • 10 second rest
  • 20 second Merlin
  • 10 second rest
  • 45 second Thrusters
  • Rinse and repeat x 3
  • While listening to Kenny’s Greatest Hits!

* Workout did not include optional soda.

COUNT-OFF & NAME-O-RAMA
15 HIMs incl. 1 FNG
CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
Today we read some excerpts from the Q Source about our choice to take the Daily Red Pill and commit to being a Pro! Then asked ourselves – what would it look like if I were completely sold out for F3?

DRP (Q1.1)

MOLESKIN:

I had to bust out my Jocko voice to get the men moving, apparently I was struggling with giving good direction today. Wagon Wheel brought the FNG “ExciteBike”, Aladdin said he was invigorated and nobody wanted to eat Tacos today… It is strange that we had a Taco Bell themed workout and Swirlie was nowhere to be seen. Hope he’s okay.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Brolympics II – order a shirt if you want one

Prayers for families and friends going through struggles and illnesses.

I had originally planned to do this workout on Baby Everest which would have been a lot harder, but there was a skunk running around in the parking lot by that hill so I decided to audible.   Saved by the skunk!!

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
While traveling yesterday I heard a man say on The Message radio station “We look for God in the destination but He is often found in the detour.” Many of us have had detours this year that have affected us physically, emotionally, spiritually, financially, at work, at home etc and we don’t understand why things aren’t going the way we planned and wonder where God is.

We are looking to Him and for Him in the end and are not looking to understand His meaning and plan for us in the midst of our detour. So if you are like Daniel in the Lion’s Den, Moses by the Burning Bush or even like Jonah in the belly of the whale. Seek God and look for Him and know that He is with you and He has a plan for you that might not be what you expected and your circumstances don’t make sense but know that you are right where He wants you. He is with you and will lead you out.  It’s just a detour.

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
Following Christ requires action from us according to new standards, developing new habits, and a conscious change of our thinking. Christian maturity is not shown through our beliefs or declarations, but through our behavior and personality. Results are the products of our actions! To grow spiritually, we need to change our priorities and thinking. To be more like Christ, you need to think according to His standards.
MOLESKIN:
It is so good to see members of the pax getting better physically. Seeing where they have improved and become faster, stronger and have more stamina.

F3 WELCOME & DISCLAIMER
WARM-O-RAMA:

  • 20 x Imperial Walker IC
  • 15 x Tempo Merkin IC
  • 20 x American Hammer (4ct.) IC
  • 20 x Overhead Clamp IC (except I-Beam, who was deliberately out of cadence)

THA-THANG:
PAX counted off 1-4 and split into groups of 4 people each. One PAX from each group was designated “injured” and had to be carried by the remaining three. PAX rotate as needed while we headed for the Pav-A-Lon. We paused for 20 Iron Mikes (4 ct. OYO) while some of the folks rested their shoulders.

Once at the Pav-A-Lon, each PAX drew two cards from the card. The number designated the rep count and the suit designated the exercise as follows:

  • Hearts = Pull-ups
  • Clubs = Burpees
  • Spades = Dips
  • Diamonds = Diamond Merkins

Face cards = 10 and Aces = 11.

Between rounds PAX moseyed to the top of the hill and bear crawled back down.

We broke back into groups and carried our injured teammates back to the AO.

MARY:
We cashed out with two rounds of ATMs!

COUNT-OFF & NAME-O-RAMA
Two FNGs today – good work guys!
CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
I shared a story with the PAX of a college senior that was seeking guidance because she was stressed about decisions others were making for her. We talked about the importance of remembering that we are grown-ups that are not only capable of, but responsible for, our own decisions. It’s easy to get complacent and let others lead, but there comes a time when you need to step up and do your own thing.
MOLESKIN:
TAP to the Junk clan – we missed you out there today, brother!
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Truckin’ to the Pound coming up in September.
