Bears and laps

THE SCENE: Super muggy, humid and gloomy
F3 WELCOME & DISCLAIMER  – No FNG’s so it was brief
WARM-O-RAMA:

Split Jacks, high knees, butt kickers, Rockettes, some yoga and stretches.  Bernie up baby Everest.
THA-THANG:

-So, I wanted to do something terrible.  Went to the newest path on the NE part of the park.  First light pole – 5 dive bombers, bear crawl to the next light pole, jog to next light pole and start the cycle again.  We did this until we reached the road.

-Jogged to the Overlook.  Did 25’s with merkins and BBS, did a lap around the oval in front of the admin building between sets.

-Back to the AO.  Bear crawl 360 down the parking lot, then Super Mario back, then Frankenstein back again.

– Finished off with a super terrible Ring of Fire that was Al Gore/Jump Squats.  Kinda like a failure to launch.

MARY:
Did 10 O-Rings in each direction in honor of the failure to launch.
COUNT-OFF & NAME-O-RAMA

16 Pax, no FNG’s.

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
Jesus gave us the parable of the seed and the mustard tree to show us that we are all works in progress with small beginnings and then a final fruitful glorious form.  Realize that growth, difficulties, change is all part of God’s plan for us.  Ignore words of discouragement if your path is currently not what you’d like it to be, listen to the words of encouragement as you move forward.
MOLESKIN:
We prayed for Katie who recently had bypass surgery.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Safe Haven still needs donations.  CSAUP coming up at Dog Pound.

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
Couple of days ago, I stumbled upon a viral video performance of Jane Marczweski, professionally known as “Nightbirde” from America’s Got Talent (video link here: https://youtu.be/bTJ3eeYrHI4). During the audition, however, Nightbirde shared some tough personal news — she had “some cancer” in her lungs, spine and liver. Nightbirde also later revealed that she was given a 2% chance of survival.

While singing her original song, “It’s Okay”, Nightbirde’s authenticity and ethereal vocals took center stage. The song is about getting lost, losing, or being down and it’s okay. Focusing on small wins in our daily lives makes us successful. Things may not turn out the way we want it to be, and it’s probably because God has better plans for us.

She ended her performance with a quote: “you can’t wait until life isn’t hard anymore before you decide to be happy”. So gents, I hope you keep focusing on those small wins in your daily lives, keep your chin up and know that the man above has better plans for us when you’re feeling down and lost sometimes. Waking up and being there in an F3 beatdown,  smashing thru the workout is already a win for each and everyone of us and it means a lot just you being out there for your brothers.

“If you’re lost, we’re all a little lost and it’s alright. It’s okay.” – Nightbirde

MOLESKIN:
Prayers for Jinxy and Lilydipper as they continue to heal. Praise for Dung Beetle who’s leading his first worship next week in their church.

F3 WELCOME & DISCLAIMER

THA-THANG:
Mosey from parking lot up little everest to front part of the park.  At every 2nd light pole do 2 burpees all the way to cross walk.  At Crosswalk grab a rock for 20 curls, 20 tricep extensions, 20 gobblet squats all picked out by the pax. Then mosey to bottom of the escalator for 20 merkins and 20 4ct LBC’s then ride the escalator up 40 squats and 20 merkins at top as well.  Rinse and repeat.  When done mosey to overlook for an ab session of 4ct flutters, freddies, box cutters, and LBC’S all at 20 reps.  Working way back to AO we did two squats at every tree on side of overlook and lunged in between trees.

Mosey back to AO but still had time to go grab rocks for one last session of 20 curls, 20 tri’s, and 20 goblet squats. Then 6:15 and time to circle up.

COUNT-OFF & NAME-O-RAMA

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
Spoke on John Chapter 18 vs 36 Where Christ is being quizzed by Pilot about who he is and Christ reply’s “My kingdom is not of this world.  If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that  might not be delivered over to the Jews.  But My kingdom is not of this world.”

If anyone should have felt hopeless it was Jesus in that situation.  He was going to be tortured and killed, and he knew it.  Yet he knew it wasn’t the end for him.  That his kingdom is not of this world and neither should ours be.  That evil may when for a short time, but our God triumphs over it in the end.  So we should be hopeful not hopeless in our times of trial, because we were made for something bigger.

Son of a Preacher Man

THE SCENE: Y’all knew it was going to be cold and wet, and you dragged yourselves out there anyway. Q’s got to up his game on a day like that.
WARM-O-RAMA:

I don’t know anything at all about working out except what I learned from the pax, so SSH (thanks every single Q ever), Cherry Pickers (no thanks to whoever mis-named them), Rockettes, The Junk Science (my humble contribution; you’re welcome), and in honor of the high desert’s very own Preacher, we did The Preacher. Bumped from 10 to 15 after a fittingly profane text from Tucson.
THA-THANG:
A little Route 66 inspired by Lily. The Cloud gave us some Box Baby Boxes, and because there is apparently some unresolved conflict in my life, we visited with my old buddy Jack Webb.

Light rain and a light mosey towards Cardiac but not quite to Cardiac. Picked up some babies by the side of the road and shared them with our buddies. Shout out to Honeydew for carrying the two of us through the Doras.

There comes a time in a man’s life when whatever’s inside has to come out, and Cardiac is built for just such a purpose.

What happens during the Crawdad Comeback is both private and communal; a man experiences his limitations and his freedom; there is running forward and in reverse. It is a time of paradox and, potentially, vomit.

The great Mickey won the final sprint to the AO, and by an embarrassingly wide margin. *Author’s note, he donated the winner’s proceeds to Jumbo, who had wisely saved his energies for his forthcoming 100m breaststroke domination in Kingsport today.

It being the weekend, we cashed out like men, and then we limped away.

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
“Man has places in his heart which do not yet exist, and into them enters suffering in order that they may have existence.” Leon Bloy, with thanks to John Stone.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
