“In this life we are not only held accountable for our actions, but also for our in-actions”

All of us in this PAX are leaders, fathers, brothers, friends, and other forms of High Impact Men. When we recognize a situation needs our involvement and then choose not to engage, that is an in-action. While we are not actively doing wrong, that in-action has consequences that we will be help accountable for. Push yourself to engage in areas that you might be ignoring. Abscess pointed out that James 4:17 addresses this as well:

“If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them”

Celebrate

I think we all know the story of the prodigal son, but just in case…

A father has two sons and he has promised than part of an inheritance. One son tells his father he is leaving and wants his part of the money. The son gets the money runs alway and spends it on hookers, booze, and wild parties. He thought he had it all, the money, the women, and tons of friends. But when the money dried up, and the women were gone, so were his “friends”. He found himself working as a pig farmer, but unable to even eat the food the pigs were eating. Wearing rags and living off pig scraps he decided to return to his father and beg for a job.

And we all know that he got there and he had sinned and asked for forgiveness the father celebrated and gave home sandals, a robe, a ring, and a feast. And they celebrate. The image being that God celebrates whenever we are lost from him and we return.

Celebrate being able to get up in the morning to come to F3, celebrate our jobs, celebrate or wives, celebrate our children. Celebrate the love God has for us and share that love as we go out today.

BOM: Living out of a condition of Fear.

Life comes at us fast. We may not even realize we are constantly living out of a condition of fear.  Fear of failing.  Fear of being hurt.  Fear of missing out on something.  Another way to explain this condition is “anxiety”.   We’ve all experienced anxiety in different areas of our lives. Financial anxiety; will we have enough money to pay the bills, to go on a vacation, to pay for kid’s braces? Emotional (relationships) anxiety; Will I ever be happy? Are my kids happy?  My wife? Will I end up being alone? Work and Career anxiety: Am I on track? Am I stuck in a dead-end?  Do I have security?  Does my boss even know I’m here?  House, Cars, Kids, Church, Family, School, Work, etc. OVERWHELMED!

What’s the answer??   It’s right there staring us in the face – FAITH.  The Third F!  Let your Faith be bigger than your Fear.  Go read Hebrews chapter 11.  Amen, Brothers.

Party Time!

BOM
Today is my 33rd Birthday and I’m honored to share it with you men. When I turned 30 I was determined to make the next 10 years the best years of my life. I refused to believe that my best years were behind me. I was so mad that I was 30 I had planned on beginning an F30 campaign. I would gather my friends who were all about the same age, we would get “F30” T-Shirts made with nicknames and would sign up for all kinds of Mud Runs and make sure our best years were to come. God has a funny way about things… Instead of F30, he gave me F3 with a circle around it and instead of a cool name nickname like Maverick, I was dubbed La-Z-Boy. I’m thankful to be a part of this PAX and humbled by you all every time I come out!

MOLESKIN:
Mumblechatter ended quickly with our Warm-O-Rama Burpees this morning. But picked back up when I mentioned how distraught I was at 30, some snickers and comments like “Wait til you turn 40 or 50!”. It’s great to be out with HIMs who can offer such great perspective on life.
