-Plank until everyone is finished. Mosey to bottom, picking up PAX, and then mosey to AO.

– Side Lunges 10x each leg(IC)
– Burpees x10 OYO
– Dive Bombers 15x (IC)
– Arm Circles Forward 15x (IC)

Divide into 3 groups and mosey with your group to the specified area…
– Group 1: w/Woodshack to flag pole / pavilion area
– Group 2: w/Pfiffer to hill near parking lot
– Group 3: w/me (Cap’n Crunch) stay in parking lot

Group 1
Circuit Circus
Divide up and head to 5 Stations (in the pavilion area).  PAX perform the prescribed exercises at the station and then move clockwise to the next station.  Continue rotating until time is up.
– S1: 10 Burpees & 20 Reverse Pickle Pounders
– S2: 15 Superman Swims &20 4ct Flutter Kicks
– S3: 10 Chin-ups & 20 Prisoner Squats
– S4: LCS Shuttle (Lunge to 1st cone, Bear Crawl back to 2nd cone, Sprint to 3rdcone and back)
– S5: 20 Derkins & 20 Let Me Ups

When relieved by Group 3, gather together and mosey to the hill.

Group 2
CMU Back Blaster
Get with a Battle Buddy.  Battle Buddy 1 runs to top of hill, does 3 burpees then back down.  Battle Buddy 2 does 1 of 3 exercises while Battle Buddy 1 is running.  When Battle Buddy 1 gets back they switch.  Do rotate through the three exercises and repeat until time ends.

When you see Group 3 move, gather together and mosey to parking lot.

Group 3
Escalation
Partner with Battle Buddy of similar fitness level. There are six drills, each has an exercise to be completed on the spot and an exercise involving shuttle run of some type.  One Battle Buddy from each pair completes a shuttle while the other Battle Buddy completes the exercise on the spot. As soon as the shuttle is completed, tag your Battle Buddy and swap exercises.

Each drill will be 1:45 with 20 seconds rest in between each set.

The opposite of manhood isn’t womanhood, it’s boyhood!  Our goal as HIMs is to always be moving forward own the road of maturity (RFP).  What F3 has taught me is that growth (physical, relational and spiritual) comes through challenge, consistency and comradery.

MOLESKIN
This morning we had a special guest from a local news affiliate.  He came to do an online piece on F3.  He asked if I thought I could get a good sized group out on a Wednesday morning at 5:30am…61 PAX including 3 FNGs answered with a resounding “HELL YEA!”  For me, this sums up F3 Knoxville.  Over the pas 18 months this PAX has set the bar and then surpassed it when it comes to heart, passion, and dedication.  They work hard, play hard and always have each other’s six.  There is absolutely no questions…I’m a better man for being a part of this PAX, and Knoxville is a better city due to what these men are doing in each other.

Incremental Growth

The Scene: perfect conditions – 55 degrees, clear

The Thang:

5:30 COP – 7 min

  • Baby arm circles X 10 (forward/backward)
  • Cherry Picker
  • Merkin

  • Jog 2 parking lot laps

Line up in parking lot Burpee Dans

Beginning at the curb, perform 4 lunges then 4 burpees, rinse and repeat across parking lot, run back to curb. Then 4 lunges and 3 burpees. Rinse and repeat (then 2 burpees, then 1 burpee). Plank or BBS until group finishes.

Mosey to lower parking lot – find a battle buddy

One man runs the length of the parking lot, performs 5 Merkins, then runs back while partner does Merkins (100), then BBS (200), then jump squats (100). Trade each lap until the total number is completed.

Next exercise:

Group splits: Half begin Bearpees (10 bear crawls followed by 1 Burpee), while the other half start Bernie Sanders on the hill. Bernie Sanders group relieves Bearpee group. Endless until 6:15am.

INCREMENTAL GROWTH

Growth is hard to see. We measure growth. When an acorn is crushed by a 1,000 lb. tombstone, who wins? It’s a no brainer. The acorn always wins. God waters it, and slow growth appears. Let’s all work toward incremental growth in our spiritual life– the same way we are working toward growing in fitness and strength.

The Pull up Run

10 Pull ups, 25 Rows, 25 Mercans x 3.

The exercise is then performed by pairing up with one person proceeding to run backward up the hill/forward down the hill 5X while the other person is performing burpees. The individuals continue to alternate running with burpees until 100 total burpees are completed. When finished, pax continue to run hills until entire pax completes.

Hands of Time

Q starts the PAX, legs up at 90 degrees, hands under your rear. One PAX at a time in a wave like motion- Each PAX counts off aloud as they drop and hold 1,2,3, etc around the circle until finished. Drop straightened legs to 10 degrees and hold until a full revolution has been made (as the second hands would move around a clock) then return to 90 degrees and repeat until smoked!

I do not do what I want but do everything I hate
Our spiritual life is just like our physical fitness. We get better with consistency and effort.  The same can be said about our spiritual growth.   We will get out what we put in and the more time we are with God in his word the more he will reveal himself to us and allow his spirit to work through us to accomplish his purposes.    He dies on the cross and has given us new life in his spirit to overcome sin.
Romans 7:15-25 – Paul
15What I don’t understand about myself is that I decide one way, but then I act another, doing things I absolutely despise. So if I can’t be trusted to figure out what is best for myself and then do it, it becomes obvious that God’s command is necessary.

17-20But I need something more! For if I know the law but still can’t keep it, and if the power of sin within me keeps sabotaging my best intentions, I obviously need help! I realize that I don’t have what it takes. I can will it, but I can’t do it. I decide to do good, but I don’t really do it; I decide not to do bad, but then I do it anyway. My decisions, such as they are, don’t result in actions. Something has gone wrong deep within me and gets the better of me every time.

21-23It happens so regularly that it’s predictable. The moment I decide to do good, sin is there to trip me up. I truly delight in God’s commands, but it’s pretty obvious that not all of me joins in that delight. Parts of me covertly rebel, and just when I least expect it, they take charge.

24I’ve tried everything and nothing helps. I’m at the end of my rope. Is there no one who can do anything for me? Isn’t that the real question?

25The answer, thank God, is that Jesus Christ can and does. He acted to set things right in this life of contradictions where I want to serve God with all my heart and mind, but am pulled by the influence of sin to do something totally different.

The Solution Is Life on God’s Terms

1-2 With the arrival of Jesus, the Messiah, that fateful dilemma is resolved. Those who enter into Christ’s being-here-for-us no longer have to live under a continuous, low-lying black cloud. A new power is in operation. The Spirit of life in Christ, like a strong wind, has magnificently cleared the air, freeing you from a fated lifetime of brutal tyranny at the hands of sin and death.
