Understanding: In understanding, we comprehend how we need to live as a follower of Christ. A person with understanding is not confused by all the conflicting messages in our culture about the right way to live. The gift of understanding perfects a person’s speculative reason in the gaining of Truth. It allows for self-evident principles to be known.

While wisdom is the desire to contemplate the things of God, understanding allows us to penetrate to the very core of revealed truths. This doesn’t mean we will understand the mysteries of God, the way we would a math problem, but that we become certain of the Truth of God. Such certitude moves beyond faith.

Understanding moves past natural reason, which is no more than how we perceive the natural world with our senses. Through understanding, we see the world and our life within the larger context of the eternal law and the relation of our souls to God.

Apparently, the light being messed up “Isn’t a priority” to the Parks and Rec Department. Let’s spam them this week to get it fixed.

WISDOM → Wisdom is not the quoting of facts. It is a gift that allows a person to understand things from God’s point of view. Wisdom allows us to recognize Truth (That’s Truth with a capital T). It is the perfection of Faith. Someone with the gift of wisdom is able to take this truth and use it to glorify God by choosing Godly solutions to problems.

Also, the gift of wisdom, we see God at work in our lives and in the world. For the wise person, the wonders of nature, historical events, and the ups and downs of our lives take on a deeper meaning. The matters of judgment about the truth, and being able to see the whole image of God. We see God as our Father and other people with dignity. Lastly being able to see God in everyone and everything everywhere.

“Where faith is a simple knowledge of the articles of Christian belief, wisdom goes on to a certain divine penetration of the truths themselves.” The better we understand those truths, the more we value them properly. Thus wisdom makes us relish and love only the things of heaven.

Thank you ALL for supporting me through my VQ. I was nervous jumping in so quickly after starting F3, but you all have made me feel so welcome that I had to join in on the fun! Also, this workout was a mix/tribute to some of my very first times in the Gloom!

Donations for Safe Haven are still needed.

  • Warmup:  10 SSH, 10 Windmills, 10 Cherry Pickers
  • Workout:  The Tree Biscuit

    • Rules:
      1. One Tag: A tree only gets tagged once
      2. Scale = Skip: Skip a burpee if you need to but stay with the pack always.
      3. Tag Turns: Be sure to take turns tagging/slapping a tree
      4. Cadence Call Out: The group also calls out the running total, not just the tagger. The tagger calls it out first though. the louder the better.
      5. No Shrubs: Don’t waste time & energy on shrubs – skip the shrubs – tag the trees
      6. No Poison Ivy: Pass trees that are surrounded by shrubs, ivy, waist high grass.
      7. Terrain Caution:  Be careful when running not to twist and ankle – trees have lots of bumpy roots around them.  And don’t hit your face on a rock or root when doing a burpee in the dirt.
      8. Milestones Celebrations: At 50, 100, 150, 200 make sure the group catches up and circles around the tree, wait a few seconds. Do the burpee.  Celebrating these milestones adds to the encouragement factor.

      • Galations 5:17 For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.
      • Numbers: 15:39It shall be a tassel for you to look at and remember all the commandments of the Lord, so as to do them and not follow after your own heart and your own eyes, after which you played the harlot,

43 rThus the LORD gave to Israel all the land that he swore to give to their fathers. And they took possession of it, and they settled there. 44 sAnd the LORD gave them rest on everyside just as he had sworn to their fathers. tNot one of all their enemies had withstood them, for uthe LORD had given all their enemies into their hands. 45 vNot one word of all the good promises that the LORD had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass.
