COUNT-OFF & NAME-O-RAMA
FNG 2.0 Miracle- Welcome to the PAX!
CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
the ideal team player, Patrick Lencioni- leadership fable

  • model is someone who is humble hungry and smart
  • Humble- “Humility is the single greatest and most indispensable attribute of being a team player”
  • Hungry- ” Hunger people almost never have to be pushed by a manager or leader to work harder because they are self motivated and diligent”
  • Smart- Lencioni says this is the hardest and most important to define. ” Smart simply refers to a persons common sense about people”  They ask good questions, listen to what oters are saying and stay engaged in conversation intently.
  • ” What makes humble, hungry and smart powerful and unique is the the individual attributes themselves but rather the required combination”
  • this apply to our lives outside of our professional lives. As HIM’s we have roles in our family, community,  and in the PAX that we can demonstrated values of an ideal team player.
  • Lencioni closes the book applying these principles to life outside. He says “A humble , hungry, and smart spouse, parent, friend, or neighbor is going to be a more effective, inspiring, and attractive person- one that draws others to them and serves others better” ” But I must admit that apart from the other two virtues humility stands alone. It is, indeed, the greatest of all virtues and the antithesis of pride, which is the root of all sin, according to the Bible. The most compelling example of humility in the history of mankind can be found in Christ, who humbled himself to share in our humanity. He attracted people of all kinds when he walked the earth, and continues to do so today, providing an example of humility that is as powerful as it is countercultural.”

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
‘Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up, it knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn’t matter whether you’re the lion or a gazelle-when the sun comes up, you’d better be running.’

There’s a lot of important takeaways from this quote, but two things are shared between the lion and the gazelle that are applicable to our lives. 1) They know what they have to do every day to accomplish their goals and 2) They make the decisions every day to help them reach their goal, knowing the wrong decision can result in their demise.

PT Barnum once said “Comfort is the enemy of progress.”…It’s only when we step outside our comfort zone that we truly improve.

Encourage and challenge the Pax to step out of their comfort zones

  • stepping up to Q a beatdown
  • stepping into leadership wit the Arsenal AO launch
  • Sign up and commit to your first 5K or Marathon
  • Maybe you have already done the above, how about an obstacle course? Hardship Hill plug 🙂
  • What about 50 miles….100? crazy! ya, but why not?!

Maybe this resonates more from a job standpoint for you, have you become complacent in your work environment, let this be a call out to dig for more!

If your walking in fear you not walking in faith

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:

“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
– Michael Jordan

I have a tendency to always look for the immediate outcome and gratification in my life. Trust the process. Grind it out everyday with fitness, work, and faith life. We are going to fail. It’s not about this workout today. It’s about the culmination of workouts over the duration of weeks, months, years that make us who we are. The same goes for our faith. We might not have an immediate prayer answered but stay true and stay consistent. Put in the work with prayer, confession, love your neighbor and your God consistently and eventually we will get there. Trust the process!

MOLESKIN:
Trust the process.
