CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:

Sacrifice – Do we sacrifice for our families, friends and God all of the time?  Of course not.  We’re human. We sin.  We think of ourselves too much.

However, sacrifice can become a habit like prayer, exercise, etc. so let’s all strive to make sacrifice for God and others a part of our every day life.

Sacrifice means giving to the Lord whatever He requires of our time, talent and treasures to further His word. Our willingness to sacrifice is an indication of our devotion to God.

1 John 3:16  By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

Ephesians 5:25   Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her,

John 13:34   A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.

Galatians 6:9   And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Hebrews 13:15-16    Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name. Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

John 15:13    Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

Philippians 2:3-4     Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

MOLESKIN:

I’ve been thinking about sacrifice and if I’m doing enough for the Lord, my family, etc.

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
A prayer to make the passage about the armor of God applicable in our lives:

Lord, I put on the belt of truth.  I choose a lifestyle of honesty and integrity.  Show me the truths I so desperately need today.  Expose the lies I’m not even aware that I’m believing.  And yes, Lord, I wear your righteousness today against all condemnation and corruption.  Fit me with your holiness and purity – defend me from all assaults against my heart.  I do choose to live for the gospel at an moment.  Show me where the larger story is unfolding and keep me from being so lax that I think the most important thing today is the soap operas of this world.  Jesus, I lift against every lie and every assault the confidence that you are good, and that you have good in store for me.  Nothing is coming today that can overcome me because you are with me.  Thank you, Lord, for my salvation.  I receive it in a new and fresh way from you and I declare that nothing can separate me now from the love of Christ and the place I shall ever have in your kingdom.  Holy Spirit, show me specifically today the truths of the Word of God that I will need to counter the assaults and snares of the enemy.  Bring them to mind throughout the day.  Finally, Holy Spirit, I agree to walk in step with you in everything – in all prayer as my spirit communes with you throughout the day.

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:

After just a week off from COVID, I am extremely grateful for F3. The text check-ins and guys picking up the Q’s I missed were great, but it was the time away that made me realize just how much I yearn for ALL 3 F’s. It was the longest I’ve got without working out since starting F3 in March of last year, I missed my brothers in the Gloom as well. I’ve always said that the Fellowship aspect of F3 has been the most impactful for me, and not being in the Gloom for a week showed me just how true that was. I also slacked off in my Faith because I didn’t have the kickstart that our COT usually gives me each morning.

Thank you, men of F3.

A Liturgy For Experiencing Road Rage – From “Every Moment Holy” by Douglas Kaine McKelvey

If my hearth were more content in you, O Lord,

I would be less inclined to rage at others.

Let me gauge by the knot in my gut,

The poverty of my own understanding

Of the grace that I have received

From a God who, loving me

Chose rather to receive wounds

Than to give them.

Take from me my self-righteousness,

And my ego-driven demands for respect.

Overthrow the tyranny of my anger, O Lord,

And in its place establish a better vision

Of your throne,

Your kingdom,

And your peace.

Amen.

———

Although I rarely experience road rage I definitely experience other forms of anger. I love the comparison to the example that Christ led on Earth. He could have raged and kicked so many butts. In the end he chose to accept the wounds over giving them.
