Race recovery run

THE SCENE: 57 and clear
F3 WELCOME & DISCLAIMER
WARM-O-RAMA:

We stretched some.
THA-THANG:
We ran around the park.

When we got to the playground on each lap we did 10 pullups.

When we got back to the AO we did 20 Merkins.

We did 3.5 long laps with the extra section that Frosty says makes each lap a true mile.

MARY:
No Mary at this AO

COUNT-OFF & NAME-O-RAMA

MOLESKIN:
This was the first run after Tank’s Hardship Hill Obstacle Course Race on Saturday.  My legs were not 100% back to normal yet, but it was good to be out and moving again.

WallBall decided 3.6miles wasn’t enough for him and had to finish out the 4 miles.

We welcomed Bueller back after a long abscence.

Also my apologies to Swirlie who I told to go lift because I thought I’d be the only one running. My bad bro.

Bunny mosey

THE SCENE: 57 and clear
F3 WELCOME & DISCLAIMER
WARM-O-RAMA:

Stretched on our own.  Swirlie came in on two wheels but made the start.
THA-THANG:
Mosey the long way to the cush field:

  • High skip knees x 2, mosey back to start
  • Side hop x 3, mosey back to start
  • Sprints x 5, mosey back to start
  • Frosty can’t draw a bunny?!??

Continue mosey around the park until time is up.

Depending on whose watch you believe it was anywhere from 4.33-4.6 miles in total.

MARY:
No abs here

MOLESKIN:
Frosty is recovering from a hammy pull during Woodshack’s beatdown on Saturday.  So while the rest of us did sprints he went off on a private walkabout.  Turns out he tried to draw a bunny using Strava maps, but in the end even the most intuitive modern art scholar would say it looked like crap.  It was a good effort though, and he kept moving which was the most important thing.  Ironically we discussed GPS watches on the last two laps of the park, including which ones worked better with Strava, unaware of Frosty’s failed attempt at bunny drawing.

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
I lost my cool yesterday with my son and wife, and I had to look for this scripture to refer to.
“My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1:19-20‬ ‭NIV‬‬

God is very slow to anger with us. If he wasn’t, we would be gone a long time ago. How can we not do the same to our family and friends?                      MOLESKIN:
We lost a CMU today. It served us well.

COUNT-OFF & NAME-O-RAMA

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:

The last couple weeks I have felt a bit flat. Things for the most part of gone well. For some reason I have felt a little disinterested in things I usually like. I have been a little more cynical lately. I could not figure out why. I was listening to Joe Rogan’s podcast and he had David Goggins on the podcast. Goggins was explaining what went wrong in his life after he left the airforce, although I think he would say this was a theme of his entire life. He said, “The more comfortable I was, the more uncomfortable my mind was.”

I think that this is true for people. I know it certainly is for me. The last couple of weeks I have not been posting as much and I really think that is why I was feeling off. Getting up in the morning and embracing the suck makes everything better for my day. To make a lateral step I think it relates to the idea that being strong is not about succeeding, it’s about accepting the suffering continuously. So, I would like to thank all of you for posting and being a part of this great community. I am approaching a year in F3, and I think this has been one of the better years of my life. It would not have been without the opportunity to go out and suffer every morning with you all. Cheers!

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:

The common denominator in all of these mass shootings, and the sexual misconduct violations are that all of the perpetrators are MEN. It’s men that are hurting our women and children. It stresses the importance of pulling men out of isolation and into community.

MOLESKIN:

With all of my mis-q’s today it felt like a VQ. I’m thankful for you men that I consider brothers. Thankful for your support and your leadership. Iron truly sharpens Iron.
