CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:

The concept of spiritual leadership within marriage is one we should be students of throughout our lives as believers.  I have been married for 24 years, and this concept is one that I continually find myself learning more with each passing year.  You never truly arrive, it’s a continual process
One thing I know, God holds you as the husband accountable for your marriage…high burden? Yes.  Easy to remember? Yes.  Take responsibility for the tone, the tenseness, the rockiness, that comes and goes in each marriage
Matt 7:3-5 3 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.
It’s important to always ask yourself in the midst of conflict/correction “Log or Speck?” Think before you go right to the speck–is it really furthering the Kingdom of God, or should you be more interested in God working through your heart to change?

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
Fresh, hot bread is a blessing. Slicing hot bread is a pain if you like straight, even slices. The best way I have found to cut straight is to stop trying to cut straight, but instead to focus on holding the knife straight. I have to surrender the outcome and focus on just doing the task well. I find that this extends to my life as well. When I think too much about the outcomes, I tend to fall either toward despair (if they’re bad) or pride (if they’re good). We considered the story of Moses in Numbers 20. He lost focus on doing his task well and giving credit to the Lord, so pride led him to take credit for bringing water from the rock. If it can happen to Moses, it can happen to me.
MOLESKIN:
Deeply appreciative to everyone who came out for my VQ and glad to welcome Biohack.

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:

I love the bible app and it’s reading plans. Regardless that it took me 5 years to get through the 1 year plan, I could use the tool to really see that I read the whole thing.  Now I’m using the four streams plan which is a 2x NT and 1x OT reading in a year.  I’m already way behind in it but still enjoy the variety and thoroughness it enforces upon me. Currently I’m reading through Hebrews (one of my favorites) and Exodus.

Hebrews 12:28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29 for our “God is a consuming fire.”[f]

I plead with you to be grateful today … for everything.

MOLESKIN:
As always I hope they all had fun and pushed themselves beyond their limits!  We were able to finish about one lap.

Habakkuk

Chapter 1
Versus 3-5
“Must I forever see these evil deeds? Why must I watch all this misery? Wherever I look, I see destruction and violence. I am surrounded by people who love to argue and fight.”
‭‭ “The law has become paralyzed, and there is no justice in the courts. The wicked far outnumber the righteous, so that justice has become perverted.”
‭‭ “The Lord replied, “Look around at the nations; look and be amazed! For I am doing something in your own day, something you wouldn’t believe even if someone told you about it.”
‭‭
We can easily feel like everything around us is chaos and have anxiety or stress about how to overcome it. This can be true for many aspects of our lives but remember as God told the prophet Habakkuk in a vision that he’s working plans that you could even fathom if he told you about them.
Try not to get overwhelmed with the aspects of life that you cannot control and focus on bettering yourself and the ones around you…there’s only one way to eat an elephant, one…bite…at…a…time

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:

Continuing the theme about friendship, I discussed the JUCO October Challenge to reach out to friends who could benefit from F3 or who just may need a friend.  This Challenge has already prompted me to text 15 or so guys (local and around the country) who I haven’t talked to in a while.  The result is I’ve had some good conversations with old friends and/or acquaintances that may need a friend.

While I am reaching out to people who may need a friend, this has been good for me because it has forced me to get off my rear (could have used a stronger word) and do something that not only makes me feel good but is bringing a smile to the faces of others.

So why is it important to have friends AND BE A FRIEND?

1 Thessalonians 5:11 – Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

Colossians 3:13 – Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Ecclesiastes 4:10 – If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.

1 Peter 4:10 – Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
