CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:

There is different kinds of love but they are all important. I celebrated my wedding anniversary yesterday. Like many of you, I married WAY OVER MY HEAD! My wife is a great person with a big heart and tons of patience! I can and do learn a lot from her. There’s also brotherly love like we have for our friends. There’s God’s love for us even though we sin and fail everyday. We should strive to love others like God loves us.

Ephesians 5:25-33: “Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church, …”

1 Corinthians 13:4-5: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.”

1 Corinthians 16:14: “Do everything in love.”

Psalm 143:8: “Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.

John 15:12: “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”

Ephesians 4:32: “Be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.”

1 John 4:12: “No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.”

MOLESKIN:

Thanks Stye for offering to babysit my kids yesterday so Lora and I could go on a date. We’ll take you up on it when we’re not so tired and just want to stay home and sleep!!!

THE SCENE: 9 brave souls came out today. Threats of rain, but dry-ish pavement in most places.  Wet grass and hills but a nice 70 degrees.
F3 WELCOME & DISCLAIMER

  • CRISS CROSS: We’ll be criss crossing the campus today – somewhat of a campus tour if you will.
  • CROW FLYS: It’s up to you to find the shortest distance between exercise stations.
  • JAILBREAKS: We’ll be doing a jailbreak sprint between each exercise…

WARM-O-RAMA:
No cadence. Silent count, more by time. Keep going until I say the next one.

SSH, High Knees, burpees, merkins, hand release merkins, wind-mills, cherry pickers, slap merkins, burpees.

THA-THANG:  The DECK OF PAIN

Each person takes a turn picking a card from a deck of 18 cards.  These cards have an exercise that is specific to a location around campus.  Sprint to that location using any trail, path, or road possible and do the exercise.  Once several people have finished the exercise, some one counts off a 30 second count and then another card is chosen.

Of the 18 cards we completed:

  1. Burpee Base Run ( 1 burpee per base on baseball diamond)
  2. 5 Stadium Hill Runs (on Success way)
  3. 30 Guard Rail Derkins (behind Maple Street)
  4. 3 Reverse Bear Crawl loop in front of ERC Building.
  5. Alternating Side straddles in Parking Lot 05 (go one full lot length)
  6. Bernie two lengths of the Welcome Way Parking Lot.
  7. 40 CMU Push Presses.

To find out what the other 11 cards are you’ll have to show up to JUCO when we do the rest.

MARY:
Jailbreak back to AO was Mary enough.

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
Peter asked Christ how many times he should forgive his brother and Jesus said 70*7 times.  As we celebrated Fathers day last Sunday this can be a challenge for some of us who need to forgive our fathers.  But all things are possible through Him who strengthens us.  If forgiving someone seems way beyond your capability … way beyond what your heart wants to do.. way beyond what you think is deserved … Then ask your heavenly Father to give you strength, courage and grow your heart so that you can obey him and forgive others.  I believe Jesus enjoys answering that prayer.

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
Matthew 5:43-48 – love your enemies as well as neighbors.  God doesn’t play favorites like we as humans tend to do sometimes.  Strive to be “perfect” like God and treat even our enemies with love and we might just win them over to follow the Lord.
MOLESKIN:
This workout was meant to be a pyramid, but due to YHC’s forgetfulness, no one had a chance.  YHC meant to have a nice large-print page with all the exercises written down so that everyone could move at their own pace.  Instead, we were limited to a cell phone.

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads!  Being a father is one of the most important roles you play in life.  Doing it well is worth every once of energy that you can muster!  This Father’s Day weekend, I encourage you to spend some time praying and reflecting on your role as a father – protector, provider, encourager, discipliner, teacher, etc.  Take pride in the things that you are doing well – and commit yourself to improving the areas that you are not doing well.  Here are three things from scripture that you can mediate on;

  1.  Do your best to live your life with honor. When you screw up, own your mistakes and recommit yourself to be a better man.

Proverbs 20:7 “The righteous man walks in his integrity; His children are blessed after him.”

2. As fathers, your words have immense power over your children. Use them with care.

Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue”

Proverbs 15:4 “Gentle words bring life and health…”

Proverbs 16:24 “Kind words are like honey, sweet to the soul and healthy for the body”

Proverbs 18:4 “A person’s words can be life-giving water…”

Colossians 3:21 “Fathers, do not discourage your children, so that they will not lose heart.”

Ephesians 6:4 says, “Fathers, don’t make your children bitter about life. Instead, bring them up in Christian discipline and instruction.”

3. If you are a believer, teach your children about God and the gospel of Jesus Christ. There is nothing more important that you could be teaching them.  If you spend hours each week showing them how to kick a soccer ball, and 30 seconds at night praying with them – you’re missing the point.

Proverbs 22:6 “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from it”.

Deuteronomy 6:6-9 “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up….”
