CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:

We are all used to having instant gratification. Between 1 click shopping on Amazon delivered the next day, to not even having to go into grocery stores to get food anymore. Our gratification timeline does not line up with God’s. Time for him is nothing like it is for us. It’s hard for us to be patient for things when they come to us so quickly now. He has a plan for us and it’s going to happen on His timeline, not ours. Be patient, and the things that are meant to happen will happen when He planned for it.

PT Barnum once said “Comfort is the enemy of progress.”…It’s only when we step outside our comfort zone that we truly improve.

Encourage and challenge the Pax to step out of their comfort zones

  • stepping up to Q a beatdown
  • stepping into leadership wit the Arsenal AO launch
  • Sign up and commit to your first 5K or Marathon
  • Maybe you have already done the above, how about an obstacle course? Hardship Hill plug 🙂
  • What about 50 miles….100? crazy! ya, but why not?!

Maybe this resonates more from a job standpoint for you, have you become complacent in your work environment, let this be a call out to dig for more!

If your walking in fear you not walking in faith

“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
– Michael Jordan

I have a tendency to always look for the immediate outcome and gratification in my life. Trust the process. Grind it out everyday with fitness, work, and faith life. We are going to fail. It’s not about this workout today. It’s about the culmination of workouts over the duration of weeks, months, years that make us who we are. The same goes for our faith. We might not have an immediate prayer answered but stay true and stay consistent. Put in the work with prayer, confession, love your neighbor and your God consistently and eventually we will get there. Trust the process!

MOLESKIN:
Trust the process.

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
I struggled and battled with clearing my mind and coming up with the words to say ahead of time.  I went and spent some time at the football field and the AO the night before, to soak in the atmosphere and listen to God. I prayed over the field where we would work out and I prayed at the AO. Ultimately I asked God to provide me with the words that needed to be spoken and I believe He did so.

I sum it up like this:

Drifter,

  • Put the pax before yourself
  • Lead from the front, laying out the next 43 feet ahead of the pax
    • In reference to building a leadership road 43 feet ahead of the people driving on it. The metaphor extends to mentoring and being willing to share your life lessons with guys who are just behind you on their life journey.
  • Pax, you are all freed to lead. F3 promotes male leadership. This is not Drifter’s AO. It is yours, and he speaks for it.
  • Drifter, motivate and empower your pax. Lead from the front and always be ready to jump into the trenches with them.

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
I had planned on doing a cliche Michael Jordan quote until yesterday when I found out some news. A mentor of mine passed away from Covid 19. Dr. Joe was the nicest man and initially welcomed me to Knoxville when I moved from Atlanta 5 or so years ago. A cancer survivor, he was a quirky man that would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. We would go to lunch together in Knoxville to catch up- talking all things life such as faith, investments, current events. He invested his time in me and made quite the impact on my life. He got me back in church at a time when I was struggling as a Christian.

Be like Joe and invest your time, faith, money in those that you care about. I regret not spending more time with Joe over the years. He was truly a special person and we should all strive to have the character he showed daily.

I challenge you to reach out to someone you may have lost contact with over the months or years who have truly made an impact on your life, investing time to better you as a person. Thank them and love them. You never know when it might be your last chance to say these things.

RIP Dr. Joe Ferguson
